Any Other Pregnant Chefs Out There?

In summary, A group of women are discussing about their pregnancies and their experiences with it. Some love being pregnant while others are anxious and ready for it to be over. One woman is expecting her bundle of joy in less than two weeks, while others are already mothers and enjoy the experience of being pregnant. Some even express their desire for more children. Despite the discomforts of pregnancy, they all are looking forward to holding their babies in their arms.

I'm in a great mood! I just had my 38 week OB visit - less than 2 weeks until I deliver my bundle of joy! They are already telling me that I have dialated (which I know doesn't mean that I'll be going into labor right away - wishful thinking I guess!) YIPPEE!!!!

Are there any other pregant chefs out there?

My pregnant days are over, but I'm a strange one - I loved being pregnant more than anything (well almost the end result is pretty great too)! If I knew it wouldn't put my husband in a nearly grave I'd do it again (I have 3 kids).

I do enjoy being pregnant right up until week 35ish, then I get anxious... I had my son 15 months ago, so I feel like I have been pregnant for 2 years straight! And to top it off, when I had my son, he was a week late.

I love many aspects of pregnancy, but I'm glad to be nearing home-stretch. :)

It sounds like you are in the home stretch so keep us posted! I'm with you being pregnant/nursing for many years...my 1st are 17 months apart, and the last 2 are 2 yrs...I was pregnant and/or nursing for almost 5 years! It was rough at the time, but cherish this time as it goes by so quickly! Enjoy your last few weeks of knowing exactly where your baby is at all times - LOL!

Not pregnant anymore--just had my second baby 3 weeks ago today! I loved being pregnant too--but by the end I was ready. Good luck with your delivery--hope it's an easy one! My second labor & delivery were MUCH easier than the first!

Congratulations pamperedgirl3! That is so exciting! I hope you are recovering well & getting some sleep.

I'm not pregnant anymore (my youngest is 20 months), but I just wanted to say congratulations! :D I do love being pregnant though, and can't wait to have the next one! I think our family is shocked that we've waited this long for another one (our oldest was 15 months when we found out we were pregnant with #2... he was 8 months when we started trying again, we just couldn't wait! lol). Of course, DH being in another country helps with the waiting part! :D

Enjoy the last part of your pregnancy!
And congrats to pamperedgirl3!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant. I have a son who is 17 mos so he will turn 2 just after this one is born. I LOVED being pregnant with my first. This one is a little different - I still love it but I don't feel quite sick, but definately not all fine - a very weird in between. Also very tired.

I am 11 weeks pregnant. Due May 17th. This is my second. I think this one is going to seem longer than the first. I feel sick a lot and tired a lot. My mom says being 31 is doing that, ha! I have not actually threw up but I feel like it most all the time some days. I go back to the doct Nov 15th. My son was 3 in July.

I am hoping for a girl but as long as it is healthy it really does not matter.
What are yall having or hoping for?

I am 38 wks today and have been ready since about 16 wks. I hate being pregnant. I have not had any complications, never been sick, only gained 26 lbs (doctor thinks that he is around 7lbs right now), no strech marks, nothing wrong. I just hate being prego. This is my first child and I am not anticipating another any time in the near future. Maybe after 3 yrs I will forget how horrible pregnancy is.

We are due a day apart! I'm having a girl. They estimate she is only 6lbs. 3 oz as of yesterday (which is surprising because my son was 8lbs 6oz when he was born). I didn't get any stretch-marks with my boy, but I have to say that by 10 weeks, I had some with this pregnancy! UGH! :yuck:

Not to get too personal, but has your OB given you any indication as to if you are progressing at all? Even if you are not dialated yet, you are only 2 weeks away (3 at most). I agree with Jennifer; once you see him & hold him, you will realize that it was worth it.

Babies are addicting! :) I didn't think I'd want one so soon after the first - he was premature, so I hated going to the hospital everyday for more shots to stop the labor. Of course, the delivery was no fun, but I was ready for another one by the end of the year! #2 was a stinker and gave me preterm labor as well, but then decided to be stubborn and wait to come the day after his due date. DH kept telling me that he couldn't watch me have an epidural again, and jinxed us - I delivered my youngest within an hour of getting to the hospital (way too late for an epidural! lol).
But it's totally worth it in the end, no matter what you go through. Trust me, you'll forget all about the pain and discomfort in no time!

Don't worry Jennifer, I have two boys and I'm still not sure if I can handle it on some days! lol :D

I had the same nausea when I had my first, and just as you mentioned, I too never actually threw up. My secret = eat more. I'm serious... once I started eating more (especially at breakfast), I didn't feel sick at all. I stumbled on that by accident one morning when I was running late to work, and decided that I might as well take my time, as I didn't have any appt's until about 10:30 that day. I made myself an egg and cheese sandwich with bacon and orange juice. That was the first day in 14 weeks of pregnancy that I didn't feel sick...

I am 18 weeks today. I love being pregnant! This is my 2nd and it's been 10 years! Yikes! Ü This pregnancy has been great so far with the exception of my triple screen coming back abnormal. But, I had a Level II ultrasound yesterday and everything looks great so I'm not worried anymore. AND...we found out that they are quite sure it's a GIRL! We are SO happy because that's what we were really hoping for.

Jennifer, Chewing gum really helped me with my nausea plus I didnt put a lot of weight on cause I wasnt eating all the time

CongratsCongratulations preggo moms!! That is so cool. So many new little lives will be popping into the world soon!!

I have a three month old and won't be preggo again for another 1-2 years. I am 30 now and still want at least one more child. But whatever the Lord gives us we will take. I only got morning sickness with my three year old. It was a big gap from my older two, that might have done it.
Or the fact that she's a pistol!! Loaded and waiting to cause trouble!

I eat pretty good b/c if I don't it will get worse. I cannot eat a lot though b/c then I will want to throw up. There is a fine line some days! With my first one I threw up all day, every day but I think the "feeling" of it is worse. I haven't gained weight yet b/c although I eat I cannot eat more than usual. Somedays, I have to make myself eat b/c I know I have to. I am ready for CRAVINGS! HA!

I will have to try the gum!!!

I've got a 17 month old. At first, I wanted 3, now I'm thinking one is plenty. LOL. Maybe I'll be like you jrstephens and wait 3 years. I was so sick with my son. I threw up every day 6 weeks until 2 hours post delivery. I even puked on my dh on the delivery table. LOL. Anyways, it is totally worth it though. My child is my life. Best of luck to you new mommies. There is nothing in the world like it.

That was my problem with my second too. I only ended up gaining 20 pounds total because I felt like that my entire pregnancy. Half way through I was telling my DH that I almost would have rather had the 4 months of morning sickness with vomiting every day that I had with my dauighter because once I threw up I felt better the rest of the day & when it was gone, food never tasted so good! Not so with this one! Of course, now I'm hoping I can lose my weight because I've found myself eating more junky foods now that I can actually tolerate them! Yikes!

I hear ya on that... that is one of the things that holds me back from wanting another one. I'm afraid that I can't handle having 2. My hubby and I are talking about trying for another one when he gets home in January... So I have some time to get used to the fact.

My daughter who is only 20m keeps saying baby, baby... and I ask her if she wants a baby brother or sister and she says "okay"....

The only thing I enjoyed about being pregnant was when it was finally over, and I got the most incredible gift after all those miserable months!

We did A LOT of praying before making the decision. My son started asking almost every day for a baby and talking non stop about it. We had been praying for God to show us what to do and we took that as Him leading us. Of course my son is a little over 3 and could specifically ask for a brother. I do not know what he is going to do if it is a girl - want to send it back, ha!

All I can say is pray, pray and seek God.

I still worry like crazy even though I know we made the right decision. I worry so much that I cannot show love equally. I NEVER want my child to feel like my husband does as the middle child. I never want the youngest to feel we love the oldest more nor the oldest to feel we love him less. My mom says it will not be a problem once I hold that baby and I am sure it won't but that still does not keep me from worrying.

I worried myself sick that Luke would not love me b/c I was never good with kids and now he barely will let me out of his sight!! HA!

I am 14 weeks now and expecting my third. I am due April 29th but am set for a c-section 2-3 weeks prior. I've been sick and tired the last few weeks but we are excited to welcome another member of our family. This will be the first time I do not need to worry about substitutes, dock in pay or maternity leave. I love being in charge of my own schedule.

I have not seen the doctor yet but by my calculations I'm 6 weeks pregnant. This will be my 2nd and by the time this baby is born my son will be almost 3 1/2 years old. It will still be some time before we tell him that he is going to be a big brother. So far I haven't really been sick but starting to get tired easier. Good Luck to all you ladies that are getting ready to deliever! Congrats to everyone who is expecting.

I was at a one last Tuesday. I go back on Thursday. I think that I have progressed quite a bit since Tues. I've been getting braxton hicks a couple of times a day since about Friday. My due date is the 13th but I don't feel like I will make it that long. The sooner the better. I am ready to hold him in my arms and finally get to see the beautiful feet that have been in my ribs for the last 3 months.

I am 30 weeks pregnant with my second (a little boy) and just found out I have gestational diabetes. I had such an easy pregnancy with my daughter, but this time nothing but trouble. I have already been on bed rest earlier in the pregnancy for 2 months and now this.

Anyway, good luck and just remember that the end is very near. Then all you have to worry about is sleepless nights

I worried about being a good mom - because I wasn't a "kid person"......I'm still not a kid person - really don't like taking care of other peoples kids.....never volunteer to work in the nursery at church, etc......BUT - I love mine to distraction!
The other night I was putting him into bed, and I hugged him, and said "I love love love you!" And he asked "Mommy, do you love everybody?" I said "Well, I love you and daddy the most!" He asked why? and I said "Because you are mine! God gave you to me to take care of, and out of all the boys in all the world, God gave us the very best one!"
Last night, when I put him to bed, I again told him I loved him....and he said, "Because God gave me to you, right, Mommy?" Man, I love that kid!

I agree! When I was checked at 36 weeks, I was 1 cm & 30% effaced. At 37weeks, I was 2-3cm & 50%. At 38 weeks I was a solid 3 & 70%. I went into labor at 39 weeks, 3 days & was a solid 4 going into the hospital & 90% effaced. Once they broke my water 2 hours later, I quickly went to 6 cm & 100%. With this being your second, it should go faster. Although it didn't with me because I was induced the first time. But this labor was so much better! Plus it ended with 30 minutes of pushing (would have been less but he was facing up & had to turn himself with each contraction) instead of the 2 hours with my daughter that ended in a vacuum extraction!

My nephew who turned 4 a month after his sister was born had wanted a brother. When they found out it was a girl, he told his mom, "No, I wanted a brother, not a sister. You're going to have to take that girl out & put a boy in!" Needless to say he loves her, even though she's a sister!

I worried about the loving part too before we decided to have #2. Your mom is right--once you hold that baby, the worry is gone. It's really an awesome feeling that is hard to explain. We really played up to my daughter that she was becoming a big sister, not just that we were having a baby. She's very proud to be the big sister.

We're 19 weeks along, now--expecting our 3rd (although we lost one  baby a few years ago). All of our kids will be 2 years apart. I just love watching our first two play together because they're close enough in age to be best buds. :D I love being pregnant and I get sad at the prospect of being "done" having babies one day.

Anyone else not finding out the gender until delivery day??? :)

I had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy, but not with my second and I just found out I'm ok with the third as well! I'm almost 27 weeks pregnant with #3 and this one is finally a girl. I really thought I'd have 3 boys, so I'm a little nervous about having a girl, actually! As for the diabetes, getting exercise and talking to a dietician about an eating plan is so important. I decided to exercise (almost) every day with #2 and #3 and I'm convinced that's why I didn't get diabetes. I bought these pregnancy workout DVD's and sometimes I do those...otherwise, I just walk! Bought a pedometer and try to hit 10,000 steps a day...

I totally understand. I was that way with my first, too (a girl). I guess even with my second, as well (a boy). We just HAD to know. But now I suppose we're finally ready to have an extra surprise on delivery day. Right after the birth, I can't wait to hear my OB say, "It's a _____!" for the very first time. I am a little bit older and have had some previous pregnancy complications (pre-term labor & blood pressure which landed me flat on my back in bed, ugh :grumpy:), so there is a slight possibility that we will be advised to not have more babies after this delivery (though we really want to--we'd like a house full of God's precious babies if we are so blessed). Just in case we have to call it quits, I really look forward to having this added element of long-awaited surprise at least once in our lives. :D

I felt the same exact way when I was pregnant with my second son. My first was only 6 months old (no need to do the math, they are actually 14 months apart) and I was just not ready. We didn't even have a chance to pray about another baby...I was on the "mini-pill" and got pregnant. (I was exclusively nursing too, but we all know how that goes...).

Anyway...you don't split your love equally. The most amazing thing happens...your love doubles with the second, triples with the third, and so on...God is good, sister.

We find out what we are having Dec 20th. I already made the appointment for that month's visit b/c my doctor is taking a few weeks vacation after that date.

How often do you all go to the doctor?

I go every 4 weeks until my 28th week and then go every 2 weeks until my 36th week and then go once a week. I have a friend that goes ever 6 weeks and at 28 weeks they are not seeng her more often. Jsut wonder what the rest of your doctors do?

It's sometimes such a surprise. One of my friends was having a terrible time getting pregnant. I don't know how long they were on fertility methods, but finally, probably after several years (with medical intervention) they got pregnant with girl/boy twins. They were SO excited. Then their babies were only a couple months old when they found out there were pregnant again--NATURALLY. And guess what?! They were having TWINS again! So they went from years of not being able to have babies to suddenly having 4 babies all in the same year. The Lord works in mysterious ways...

We could find out right now and probably could have found out at my 2nd ultrasound 3 or 4 weeks ago if we really wanted to (and if baby cooperated). This is week 20 for me. We scheduled an ultrasound for next week or the week after, but I still think we're going to stick to our guns and be surprised at birth on gender. This baby is kicking ALL DAY like none of my other babies did. And if my son or daughter sits in my lap I'm just sure they can feel the kicks through my belly because they're so hard. Amazing!

Right now I'm still at every 4 weeks. With my first I went into full-blown labor at 31 weeks. I remember losing my plug in the hospital that early and being hooked up to all the machines--having to take those icky shots and then pills every 4 hours or else my hard labor started up again. Ugh! Bedrest is NOT fun. :( I think after that I was at my OB's office every week and many times TWICE per week. I've had better experiences since then so I'm thinking your schedule is closer to normal.

We are expecting our 6th baby in June. We have 3 girls, a boy and a girl. Thankfully I have been blessed with very healthy pregnancies and deliveries and babies. That is our prayer again, a healthy pregnancy, mom and baby and a quick and easy delivery. We have never found out the babies gender; we feel like it is one of the last great surprises left in the world!

Happy & Healthy pregnancies to you all!

I felt the same way too! I know a lot of other woman who have had the same worries... I guess it's normal. I was especially worried about it because my first DS was a preemie and was taken to another hospital an hour away from where I was, right after I had him. Don't get me wrong, I loved him right away, but it really didn't sink in that he was mine until we took him home. The bond was there, but it was just hard at first, because I wasn't allowed to hold him until I got out of the hospital and went to see him. But when my second was born, it was instant - it was like my heart doubled to allow me to love them both equally. I was so relieved that I had worried over nothing! :)
