I received a gift today. I am so upset it was for a man. I have to wait until Monday to speak to someone who can send me the womans gift. Anyone willing to share what that will be?

Oh no! I haven't got mine yet so I can't divulge. Sorry!:(

It is for both men/women. The one on the right is for women, the one on the left is for a man. I'm pretty sure there is only one gift... not one for male consultants and one for female.I'm in love with it! Can't wait to show it off at my TEAM holiday party on Sunday!

I called HO and asked they said they did not send women a tie,..... but the person to correct it was out to leave a message and she'll get back to me on Monday.

All of the directors I know all got the same thing... about 15 of us. It's a his/her gift. The tie is for the male of the house, the other for the lady.

Did it arrive Fed ex or mail?

Carolyn, did you get yours yet?(You're further south than me)

Isn't that a little presumptuous? To assume that a) there's a couple in the household and b) it's a heterosexual couple.

Don't ask me! But I like it and am happy with it. I'll just save the tie for another occasion... like if I ever need to give someone a tie or I decide to use it as a craft or something.

I thought the same. It works for my household, though, so I'm not complaining.

It would work for mine, too, but I can just imagine someone getting all offended. Which is stupid, because it's supposed to be a gesture of goodwill and appreciation. But it seems like people don't look at the spirit of things anymore, they're too busy complaining.ETA: I was playing devil's advocate with my previous post.

You are SO right. Even at the holidays some people can't be happy no matter what. It's too bad too... so much for something being a GIFT.

The man could take the woman's gift and make it into a pocket square. But if the household was two women, I have no idea what could be done with the tie.

Yeah! So if anyone is offended about their gift, feel free to send it to me! I'm not proud! :D

Ok so what's the gift , are you going to keep it a secret..........

It could be the start for something like this:

I wasn't offended but did not every think PC would assume there is a male in a house or spend the money to send a tie to everyone and as I said HO said it was a man's gift they did not intend to send women a tie.

I apologize, trps. The last thing I meant to do was to imply that you were offended by the gift.
(I need to learn to control my type first, think later instinct.)

No problem. I once accidentally typed in all caps to a consultant. She thought I was yelling at her and wanted to know what she did to make me mad. She really never talked to me again even though I told her I hadn't realized the cap lock was on. Then signed up again years later under someone else (never turned in another show though).

Oh, oh, I haven't gotten anything.. I'm still at work, now I can't wait to get home. :) So it should only be one gift and some of you got two?

It's two items in one box... hopefully that won't ruin the surprise too much! ;)Ann --- I LOVE that skirt! I think tho that I might make mine into a belt to wear to shows... that would be kinda fun! :D

There's a crafter on Etsy (where I found that, and where the link goes) who has a whole bunch of them for sale. Many are color-schemed. She has a red one, and another that's blue, etc. I've seen several people on Etsy selling similar items.

I think that whoever you spoke to at HO was misinformed. I've learned that sometimes they don't have all of their facts straight. We did all get the same thing, so it doesn't make sense that we all got it wrong.

I think it was a very nice gesture, very pretty and much better than an ornament shaped like a box! IMHO

I loved the little boxes...

It is a very nice gift. As women, we really could use either. Just think about the 1980's.

:D And here I was thinking you were going to be talking about a present for your director!

I saw a Martha Stewart show where she used silk ties to die Easter Eggs. My husband never wears his ties, so I thought about trying the egg thing. I never did it. I'll have to think about it again for this next Easter. (Martha suggested going to a second hand store and buying the ties.)

Looks like something Lisa from HO would come up with...

No, not yet. According to my FedEx tracker it should arrive today.

It is killing me...I don't have mine yet. I lived the 80's and I can only think:
late 80's Puffy scaves
early 80's -preppy head bands or 4 button purses (kind with covers that you change out)
