What tool does the best job shredding carrots?

How many to shred?

I would think either the Deluxe Cheese Grater (small amount) or the UM fitted with the box cutter attachment. (large amount)

I love using the Julienne Peeler (especially for salads)

Do you want long, narrow strips? The julienne peeler will do that. I spike it down on a cutting board with the hold 'n slice. But they you have to separate the strips - I consider this a design flaw.

For that fabulous 29 Minutes recipe for Korean beef, I spike it down and use the regular peeler. They are thin strips, as wide as the carrot.

Microplane grater will get you "essence of carrot".

Ultimate Mandolin will get short shards of carrot.

My fave is the deluxe cheese grater with the large drum, though.

Depends on how fine you need them shredded. You could also use the Microplane Adjustable Grater too, if you want them shredded finely.
