I really need help understanding the new technology! I have noticed lately Dell and Surface tablets that run the microsoft windows. Couldn't we use them and not worry about logging into a Host wifi @ a show??

In order to use any tablet, you have to have access to the internet. A tablet alone can't bring up the PC website by itself--it has to be connected to the internet via Wifi. You can set up a Wifi hotspot with a smartphone, and thereby not have to use the host's network. A smartphone can also use its data plan to use the PC app, or you can use the PC app in "airplane" mode--you just have to add the correct tax, etc. This is why many consultants use the manual method of taking orders at a party and upload them to the website when they get home to their own computer. I tend to use the PC app with my dataplan. I just put up with the automatic syncing it does after every entry.

The new technology you are referring to is likely the use of tablets, specifically Dell and Microsoft Surface tablets, that run on the Windows operating system. These tablets have become increasingly popular and are being used in a variety of settings, including trade shows. One of the main advantages of using these tablets is that they offer a portable and user-friendly way to access and manage information. With the use of these tablets, you can avoid the hassle of finding and logging into a host wifi network at a trade show. This is because these devices typically come with built-in cellular connectivity or can be easily connected to a mobile hotspot, allowing you to access the internet without relying on a wifi connection.Furthermore, these tablets often come equipped with various apps and software that can help you manage your trade show experience, such as digital brochures, lead capture forms, and scheduling tools. They also offer the ability to take notes, create presentations, and stay organized throughout the event.Overall, using a tablet like a Dell or Microsoft Surface at a trade show can greatly enhance your productivity, streamline your processes, and eliminate the need for a host wifi connection. However, it's important to note that these devices may require additional setup and integration with your existing systems, so it's best to consult with an IT professional for guidance on how to best utilize them for your specific needs.
