If my host for a catalog show does not want to list her address, can her order come to my house? Or is that a no no?

Yes, you would have to put your address in the shipping address field.

I always put C/O "consultant name" in line 2 so they know to leave it for you.

Example - it will read:

Jane Doe (Host)
c/o Susie Consultant
123 First Avenue
Beverly Hills, 90210

You have to put it in the first box though if she won't list her address.

You also want to be sure to put the c/o Consultant Name line in so they (HO) know the host doesn't live with you.

Shows hosted by you or anyone living with you do not get booking benefits on shows that are booked off of them and the products purchased with the host discount are not commissionable.

Yes, that too, thanks Beth.

HO understands that many consultants do have show shipped to them to save the host work. I've done that for a few people in the past...like when I did a Mystery Host show. The lady "won" the host benefits, why make her sort too...

...and we just clarified the "anyone in her house" rule earlier today. Her director suggested her show go in DH's name since she signed to get booking benefits. NOT the case, so I hope she can get it fixed.

ok, thanks. I just wanted to be sure there wouldn'y be an issue. Is it common for the cons. to have orders shipped to them instead for a catalog show?

Janet, you answered my ? before I could ask it. Thanks

Depending on where the majority of the people live, sure.

I have a lady at work that does 2 catalog shows a year. I live about 20 miles from work and drive a van. She lives 50 miles from work and has a small car. Most of her guests are at work.

I usually have that show shipped to me and sort it out and load it in my van. Then I give the boxes to her and she distributes.

It also allows me to make sure those receipts are right, they have my business card and anything else.

I usually never do that for cooking shows and other catalog shows, but for the few that are smaller and appreciate it I do them a favor.

Too funny, I was answering it again! :D

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet in this thread, but in some states, the sales tax changes depending on the town it's being shipped to. So if you're in a different own than your catalog show host, you may want to double check the tax rates so customers are charged the correct amount of tax. At least here in Illinois, tax rates change from town to town. Just thought I'd throw that out there....:blushing:

Just have to ask: Why doesn't the catalog host want her address listed? Or, is it just that she doesn't want the show shipped to her house?

That is good to know about sending to my address. I have had a couple of parties that have PO boxes and/or live in places that they are not comfortable with the boxes being left outside. I have always impossed on my poor mother in law to have the boxes delivered to her house for those people. (she knows them so it was no big deal to her) but it would be better for me to have them delivered here. Thanks for that advice

The host is rarely home. She doesn't want orders left at her door and have something happen to them. So it isn't that she doesnt want to list her address, its just that she would like me to have the orders come to me. I live 2 mins from her office, so thats where all the orders would be going to anyhow.

Becky if that is the case, put her address in as contact address then put yours in on the bottom box as the shipping address with the C/O "consultant name"

Choose ship direct to shipping address rather than contact address.

That way HO does have her address for any warranty issues.

You will before you know it!

Why don't you just ship it to her office?

Thanks for the chuckle!

You're welcome. ;)

Actually I use that address often to estimate S/H charges for large items if I don't know the customer's zip code. It is about the furthest in the continental US that you can get from me and I don't have to try and remember a city, state and zip on the west coast. :)

office does not allow personal orders. But I will be ok bringing it in. I actually prefer it. Then I can meet some of the ladies face to face and possibly get more bookings.

And hosts really appreciate having the orders separated for them - especially when they are delivered at work.
