Sale Tax License for Craft Fair??

In summary, a sale tax license for a craft fair is a permit or registration required by the state that allows you to collect and remit sales tax on items sold at the fair. The need for a license may vary by state and can be obtained through the state's department of revenue website or in person/mail. Some states may have exemptions for small businesses or specific products. Failure to obtain a license may result in penalties and fines from the state.

I was searching for crafts and found that all required this? Do any of you know what it is?

Do we have to apply for it at our County recording office or do we contact HO for one??

(I recall having to obtain some kind of generic document when owning my own Avon Biz at the county office to be able to participate in local Swat Meets and a Vendor fair at a College. I wonder if this is the same thing?)

Thanks for any help!:)

I have done many fairs where the tax forms were given to all of the vendors to fill out and turn in by the end...those of us that were that were a part of a DSA did not have to do this because of the way we work, TPC takes care of that and we pay our taxes via 1099...we don't track our sales tax and what not since TPC does it for us. But, to be on the safe side I would contact HO.

Hi there! It's possible that the document you are referring to is a business license or permit. These are typically required for individuals or businesses that are selling goods or services in a specific area. The requirements for obtaining one may vary depending on your location, so it's best to check with your local county office or city hall for more information. You can also reach out to the HO (Homeowners Association) if you are part of a community that has specific rules and regulations for businesses. Hope this helps!
