ok- I want to do an open house-
I will do it late Feb...to say goodbye to the old and preview the new spring product.

I will only do 1 day

FRI or SAT and if SAT what time?? would 4-8/9 work? or maybe 3-9

I want to appeal to the most...some will travel a bit far so they can in daylight hours

please give me your opionons...
If it works out well I'll do it 2days next time

Mine is going to be on a Friday night from 7-9. I've learned that when you are planning events, the more compact the time, the more "urgency" you put around the event. If you are having a 2 day event, people tend to think in the aspect of "oh, sometime Fri evening or Saturday I need to get by Nancy's house & check out the new products ..." then life gets in the way. If they know it's on _____ date for only 2 hours, they are more likely to put it on their calendar and actually PLAN to be there for it. Does that make sense? ;)

I think a one-day open house is a great idea! I would suggest doing it on a Saturday from 3-9, as that gives people enough time to travel and still have daylight hours to check out the products. It also allows for those who work during the week to attend. If it goes well, definitely consider doing it for two days next time. Good luck!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it better to host an Open House on Saturday or Friday?

The choice between Friday and Saturday for an Open House often depends on your target audience. Fridays can attract guests looking to unwind after a workweek, while Saturdays may draw in families and those with more flexible schedules. Consider your guests' availability and preferences when making your decision.

What are the advantages of hosting an Open House on Friday?

Hosting on a Friday can create a relaxed atmosphere as people are often in a good mood heading into the weekend. It may also allow for a smaller, more intimate gathering, which can lead to more personal interactions and sales opportunities.

What are the advantages of hosting an Open House on Saturday?

Saturdays typically offer more flexibility for guests, as many people are off work and can dedicate more time to attending. This can lead to a larger turnout, providing more opportunities for sales and networking. Additionally, families may find it easier to attend together on a Saturday.

How can I determine which day is better for my specific audience?

Consider surveying your potential guests or looking at past attendance records from previous events. You can also analyze your social media engagement to see when your audience is most active. This data can help you make an informed decision about whether Friday or Saturday is more suitable.

What time should I schedule my Open House on Friday or Saturday?

For a Friday Open House, consider starting in the early evening, around 5 or 6 PM, to catch people as they finish work. For Saturdays, a mid-morning or early afternoon start, such as 10 AM or 1 PM, can be ideal. Ensure to provide enough time for guests to browse and socialize without feeling rushed.
