My Newsletter Opt-Outs: Strange Occurrence?

In summary, a newsletter opt-out is when a person chooses to stop receiving emails or mailings from a company or organization. This can be done by unsubscribing from an email list or contacting the company directly. There can be several reasons for opting out, such as lack of interest, too many emails, or a change in contact information. It is not strange for someone to opt-out, and companies should have an easy opt-out process. If newsletters continue to be received after opting out, the company should be contacted. It is also possible to opt-out of specific types of newsletters from a company.

I was wondering if anyone had this happen to them too. I send a monthly newsletter written in my e-mail in text only and don't get many opt-outs. But when I send any announcements out through my web site I always get opt-outs even from past hosts. What is the deal with that? Just seems strange to me.

Maybe they don't recognize it's coming from you? One, if you usually send text only, seeing a fancy HTML email may make your customers think that the email is from Home Office, and thus something they don't want. Two, if I understand right, the emails from the website don't come through from your email address. So although your name may be at the bottom, the customer may quickly reply to opt-out because they don't realize it's from you.

hmm...I always have an e-mail sent to me too. It shows my name with Your Pampered Chef Consultant after it in the from area. This is how my own e-mails from my e-mail provider is set up too. True it's not sent from my e-mail it is sent from PC. Just seems strange.
