Happy Friday to all-:)
Need a little advice on how to get people to book at a cooking show. I have had great success from friends and family, but getting someone to mark the 'YES' on the show slips is very difficult. Throughout my shows I'm constantly mentioning in differnet ways the benefits of "hosting your own" show, but no one seams interested. Any ideas??

Don't worry about whether they put yes or not on the drawing slips. As you are checking out, ask each guest if they would like to host their own show, or if they were thinking about it, whatever.

Many times I get bookings off people who don't mark anything on the drawing slips because they think they have to book within a certain time frame (like 1-2 weeks) if they mark it down. If they hesitate when you ask, they usually want to but just aren't sure.

I mention that fact (they don't have to have a show right away) during my show too and the fact that the host gets to purchase an item at 60% off at their show! I say that vs purchasing the host special b/c that's meaningless. The BIG thing is to really explain to your host the benefit of bookings. Ask her if she's looked at the upcoming specials (look at the DYLAB flyers if you haven't). See if she's been eyeing any of those products. I've had hosts stand up at their party to let people know she really wanted "A" & "B" so she needs people to book those months. And they did! Let her know that it means more coming from her too. They'll believe that she got a lot and it was easy if SHE tells them, but expect that YOU will tell them that regardless of the truth. Luckily, we DO have a great host program and don't have to embellish.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some effective ways to promote my cooking show to maximize bookings?

To effectively promote your cooking show, utilize social media platforms to share engaging content about your event. Create eye-catching graphics, post recipes, and share cooking tips to attract interest. Additionally, consider sending personalized invitations via email or messaging apps to your friends and family. Hosting a giveaway or offering a special discount for attendees can also incentivize bookings.

How can I encourage guests to bring friends to my cooking show?

Encourage guests to bring friends by creating a referral incentive program. Offer a small gift or discount on their next purchase for each friend they bring. You can also highlight the fun and social aspects of the event in your promotional materials, emphasizing that cooking shows are a great way to bond and learn together.

What should I include in my cooking show to make it more appealing and increase bookings?

To make your cooking show more appealing, include interactive elements such as hands-on cooking demonstrations, tastings, and fun games or challenges. Offer a variety of recipes that cater to different dietary preferences, and showcase popular Pampered Chef products that guests can purchase. Additionally, consider providing refreshments and a comfortable atmosphere to enhance the overall experience.

How can I follow up with potential guests to secure bookings?

After reaching out to potential guests, follow up with a friendly reminder about the cooking show. You can send a personalized message thanking them for considering attending and providing any additional details they might need. If they express interest but haven't committed, gently encourage them to RSVP by highlighting any limited-time offers or the benefits of attending.

What are some common objections I might face when trying to book cooking shows, and how can I overcome them?

Common objections include scheduling conflicts, lack of interest in cooking, or concerns about costs. To overcome these, be flexible with dates and times to accommodate guests' schedules. Emphasize that the cooking show is a fun social event, not just a cooking class. Address cost concerns by highlighting the value of the products and any special offers available during the show. Providing a no-obligation atmosphere can also help alleviate any hesitations.
