I just e-mailed HO. I work full time, Monday through Friday from 9 or 10 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. I do not know anyone who would book a party at 8 or 8:30 p.m. on weeknight! Do you???

Geez, why does it seem they ALWAYS assume EVERYONE DOES THIS FULL TIME??!!

It is so unfair!

I've never thought that they only cater to those who do PC "full time", if they did then we wouldn't have the pumpkin dish promo, or the option to get a free fall product with only 2 shows submitted. On the other hand if I were only working PC I would be bored with all the "submit 2 shows and receive ______" Where's the challenge in that? There is something for everyone. :D

John what is the challenge like? I don't think we have it here in Canada in July.

Fire up your summer Shows with a Booking Challenge that rewards you, your host and guests. Book as many Shows as you can July 21-25 because more Shows mean more opportunity to win sizzling hot prizes.

Every day throughout the challenge, your Home Office team will randomly draw 50 host's names. If the Show is taking place when we call, we’ll deliver the great news:
Your host wins a FREE 10" Stainless Saute Pan (a $98 value)...and so do you!
Every buying guest wins one FREE Smoky Barbecue Rub.
That's not all. CEO Marla Gottschalk will personally call one host per day to award a grand prize. If the Show is taking place:
Your host wins a FREE 5-piece Stainless Cookware Set (a $295 value)...and so
do you!
Every buying guest wins one FREE Smoky Barbecue Rub.
The heat is on, so register your July 21-25 Shows by July 15 on Consultant's Corner > Consultant Incentives > Promotions and Programs > July Booking Challenge. Return as often as you like to keep your schedule of registered Shows updated because your Show must be taking place when we call to be eligible for prizes.

I know I wont be doing the challenge since I dont do shows on Mon and Tues, then the 23rd is DD's bday and then we are going out of town. O well hopefully I will earn at least level 2 of the sell a thon in June

I am exagerating but...There have been a few promos where they have forgotten to put weekends in or sometimes put in time limit restrictions that make it impossible for a person with a different full time job to even think about making it. Do you also know how difficult it is to reach anything over the $1500 mark on the sellathons when you have 4 days to do shows in a month? I don;t know about anyone else but I could not possible =do two shows per weeknd. I have responsiblities at home so I have to have time to cut the lawn clean the house, do laundry and all that other fun stuff.
The promo is this Hold shows from July 21 to July 25 and register those shows with HO. A call may be made to your host during the show. They win a 12" Skillet. July 21 to July 25 is Monday to Friday. So...
Yeah but it would be nice if every challenge was for everyone. Yeah, the submit two shows get one product free is nice. But those about the only ones a part-timer can earn without stressing out. Now, I know what you're gonna say. I look at all of the promos. It sounds weird but when it is something i know I could "cash" in on and not be able to because of the time limits. Like when they ran a promo something or other and it was only in a two week time span. That's great but... when you work full time, most of that is weekday time. Oh well, I am done. I feel better because it is true that most of the promos are geared toward everyone. I do not ever remember one like this though. It is SO restrictive. Not to mention, it is right after wave 3 ends. I know even if I could i could book weekenights, I would not be able that week as I would have ot play cathup from being at conference. SO...

I work full time and hardly have any shows during the weekend. Most of my hosts, even if they also work regular full time jobs, prefer week night shows. Friday night is also very popular. I've noticed that most moms are too busy on the weekends with kids to do shows.

The 21st is my birthday and my BF splurged for a week's vacation for us so I am out of luck too. But normally I work till after 7pm so I am in the same boat.

Yeah I know.I just figured out something though. I just sabotaged myself.
I am reading the book by Gary Coxe. And you know what? Apparently I need re-read it! He says that for everything you want, there is always something you must give up. If I wanted it bad enough, I could figure out how to do it.
SORRY GARY!!! AND SORRY EVERYONE HERE! I guess it has just been a long day at my FT and I still have two hours to go. UGH!!!! I guess what I really need to do is figure out how to get out of my FT!!

See, I was excited about it, b/c I do this full time, and can never get anyone to book shows on weeknights, so I am hoping this added incentive will give me a great week in July! And if I am smart, I will put it away for next year's Conference...

We've all felt like that from time to time! I hope you will be able to make this work so you can take advantage of the contest! :) And here's to a better FT job that will be more conducive to extra PC shows during the week!

I do PC part time... up to 4 shows a month. turns out both of my July show shows are the 26 and 27th!!! just missed it!!

I agree it seems to me there should be more levels in some of the incentives. I have not had a $1500 month this year, but always have 2 shows. It would be nice if it was hold 2 shows and have $1000 in sales and get a free fall product for the 2 shows and $25 PC dollars for the $1000 in sales, then the $1500 level etc. it would give me a boost for sure.

John,

It takes a smart, strong man to say what you just said here.

I really respect the fact that you came back and admitted that you were having a momentary lapse, and apologized for it.

Thank you! I knew I liked you - and now my respect for you has risen immensely!

I do have a question about them calling. Are they going to call during the show or the day of the show? To me it sounds like they will call during the show. I was just wondering.

I believe they call during the show.

During the show. The show time and host phone number will be info HO requests when you register those shows.

I guess someone will be staying up late if a California or Hawaii show is chosen. A 7pm show on the west coast is 9pm at HO!! ha ha ha

John, I SO feel your pain!!!

I, too, work a semi-full time job. I DO have a show that week, on a Friday, but how many other thousands of consultants also will have a show that night? And why can't my weekend host have this wonderful benefit?

I work 9-6 some days, 2-10 or 3-11 on others. On the 9-6 days, especially if its a Wednesday, I'm lucky to get out of there at a decent hour. And on Friday ... I am off because my employer has mandated that I cannot work 40 hours any more ... a move that is costing me $400 a month (my entire gas budget.)

The only way to bring my income back to a normal level is to work 2 shows a week ... live shows if I can help it. If I am working day shift, I can pop over to my host's house if it is close to work. Friday nights and Sunday afternoons seem to be the most popular time.

I'd urge you to find a show close to work and make sure your host does the shopping.

I wish they were counting catalog shows in this ...

The close to work showsSound like a great idea but... There are literally 4 consultants in that same area and everyone seems to know them. However, that does not mean that if I do the work to get it, I just might. I am having a heck of time just booking June right now because, guess!?? We have two weekend updates I have to be at my FT for. SO... I am working the catty show angle around people being out and about. Carry that catty and get free stuff! No fuss, no muss! So we;ll see how that goes. Not to mention I took every ounce of energy I had to make over $3000 in May for a HWC fundraiser. I close it tomorrow and I am well over $4000!!! Not only that, I was within $3000 of the $100,000 career sales and beat it to heck All in a catty fundraiser!!! So now that everyone I know and people I don;t ordered in MAy, where the heck to go in June? We'll see!!

A $4000 fundraiser in a catalog show???!!???? How completely fabulous!!!! :D This has been a totally crazy month for me with my daughter in cheerleading and competitions for that, co-ed baseball and girl's softball - both with practices and games. Oh, and my niece graduated. So, I've been struggling to even do 2 shows - and here you are with a f/t job and doing this in one show??? That is completely awesome! Way to go!!!! :sing:

WOW! That is AMAZING!

I would contact some of your larger orders and say, "Do you know your order alone was almost large enough to be its own show? Do you have family and friends who love the products as much as you do?"

I am trying to move away from the catalog shows and towards more live shows, because I know this will benefit me in the long run. But meanwhile, it is really a huge struggle for me, because I want my calendar filled YESTERDAY. I've gotten no bookings from catalog shows, but always bookings from live shows. So this is what I'm trying to do.

And ya know ... sometimes you look at the carrot and realize it's not worth it. When I sold jewelry, they always did this kind of promotion in October, because it's their "birthday month." Guess how many calls I or any of my fellow consultants got? ZERO.

Right now, though, it's easier for me to get July shows than June ones. Any June shows that have bookings won't book until July at the earliest. I would take a vacation day that week if it was worth it to me ...

I'm thinking that if they're making 50 calls each day... the chances of them actually calling ME one night --out of all the consultants doing shows across America each night --are pretty slim.

I'm not much into sweepstakes so I'm not going to sweat it. If I book a show during that time, I'll register it, but I'm not going to mess up my regular schedule for it. The odds are too much against me.

Now if you subtract out all the consultants who think the same thing your chances go up!;)

So then this just means that you need to work to become THAT consultant in the area that everyone REMEMBERS!!!

There are DOZENS (and I mean dozens) of PC consultants in this area. When I started in 2003 I was nobody. I mentioned PC and people were all "oh, so-and-so is my PC lady." I just worked harder and harder to make my shows more FUN, more EDU-TAINING, help my hosts earn MORE free products...make myself THAT consultant that people remember!

You can do it!

Talk about hard - there is even another PC consultant named Carolyn within 5 miles of me...so I have to work EXTRA hard to make myself memorable. I knew I'd finally "made it" when at a show last month, a post hostess of mine shared iwth me that every time she mentioned that she was going to this show in May and people asked who the consultant was and she told me it was me...they were all like "Oh - she's my consultant, too! Isn't she great!" She even had one person who wanted to send an order to the show with her "but only if Carolyn K is the consultant."

That made my night!!

And YOU can do it too!
