A lady calls me last night and says that she has been referred to me by my stepsister. Cool! Her niece is getting married in two weeks and she would like to purchase something for her if I can get in here in time. No problem!
She wants to buy her "a covered clay oven bowl" like she has. I explain to her that this particular item has been discontinued and since the time that I started selling PC, the only item similiar would be the DCB. She proceeds to tell me how much she likes hers, blah, blah, blah and then makes some sort of comment to the effect of "well if it has been discontinued, what will happen if I need to use the lifetime guarantee?"
I explain to her that unless the guarantee periods were different when she made the purchase, it should have been guaranteed for three years - not lifetime. I tell her that she can look at the DCB online and give me a call back if she would like to order it (I was going to add it to a show that I am ready to close). She calls me back at 10:00 pm and tells me that she really wants to buy her niece something that will LAST FOREVER so she will just find something else.
I feel sorry for the consultant she purchased her "clay oven bowl" from when she has an issue. Of course, that consultant probably isn't around anymore and she will be calling me. Let me memorize HO's number .
