What you do is send a letter to, say 10, of your customers and/or past hosts. Ask if they'd like to host a $1000 show. The cool part is that it's a contest: to participate all they have to do is submit $100 in orders by a date set by you. (If each person participates you'll have your $1000.) Once everyone has given you their orders, put their names in a hat and draw out your winner to receive the host benefits.

Here's what I just sent out for the end of June. Hope it is successful!!

This idea was sent to me through my director, (I think!) I just had my second child in Feb and had planned on doing this for March but waited too long and didn't get it out in time.

My plan was for every $100 they submit they get their name entered once, that way they are motivated to get even more orders, uping their chance, host benefits, and your sales! The skys the limit with this one. Send it to 20 people if you can and it'll be an even bigger event. Go ahead to get it your letter ready NOW and all your stuff together, I didn't and thought I'd have time once on maternity leave from my full time job and it just didn't happen! Let me know what you think and how it turns out!
I just wanted to say that this a great idea, whoever hasn't tried it should.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a catalog show and how does it work?

A catalog show is a type of sales event where a consultant showcases products through a catalog rather than a live demonstration. Hosts collect orders from friends and family over a set period, usually a few weeks, and submit them to the consultant. This allows people to browse at their convenience and place orders without the need for a physical gathering.

How can I encourage my customers to host catalog shows?

To encourage customers to host catalog shows, you can offer incentives such as discounts, free products, or exclusive offers for hosts. Share success stories from previous hosts to illustrate the benefits, and emphasize the ease and flexibility of hosting a catalog show compared to traditional parties.

What materials do I need to provide for a successful catalog show?

For a successful catalog show, provide your host with catalogs, order forms, and a list of product highlights or specials. Consider creating a host packet that includes tips for promoting the show, a timeline for collecting orders, and any promotional materials that can help generate interest.

How can I promote catalog shows on social media?

Promote catalog shows on social media by creating engaging posts that highlight the products, share host testimonials, and announce any special offers. Use eye-catching images and videos, and encourage your hosts to share their own posts to reach a wider audience. Consider hosting a virtual event or live stream to showcase products and answer questions.

What are some creative themes for catalog shows?

Creative themes for catalog shows can include seasonal themes like holiday baking or summer grilling, or specific product focuses such as meal prep or kitchen organization. You can also create themes around popular trends, such as healthy eating or entertaining, to attract interest and make the show more engaging for participants.
