...or something like that.

I'm trying to put together a challenge for my team to help motivate them to get bookings for the year. This was at the suggestion of a director.

Her idea was to challenge them to book a catalog show with friends, family and past contacts, one for each month of the year starting in February. Then, offer a prize to the first to meet the challenge. (or maybe the closest one to meeting it???)

Anyone done something like this with your team? How did it go?

I'm going to work on getting the wording together, but if you've done it...I'd love to "steal" from you!!

Hey there! That sounds like a great idea for motivating your team. I haven't personally done something like this, but I have seen similar challenges on other teams and they have been successful. Offering a prize definitely adds some extra motivation. As for the wording, I think keeping it simple and clear would be best. Maybe something like "Book a catalog show for each month of the year starting in February and win a prize!" Good luck with your challenge and let us know how it goes!

What are the key benefits of implementing a year-long booking challenge?

Implementing a year-long booking challenge can lead to several benefits, including enhanced team camaraderie, increased sales productivity, and improved goal-setting skills. Additionally, it can help individuals track their progress over time, leading to a greater sense of accomplishment and motivation.

How can leaders effectively run a year-long booking challenge?

Leaders can effectively run a year-long booking challenge by setting clear objectives, providing regular updates, and recognizing achievements. Incorporating incentives and rewards for milestones can also keep participants motivated throughout the year. Regular check-ins and team meetings can help maintain momentum and address any challenges that arise.

What types of incentives work best for year-long booking challenges?

Incentives that work well for year-long booking challenges include tiered rewards for reaching specific booking milestones, recognition in team meetings, and opportunities for personal development. Gift cards, product giveaways, or exclusive experiences can also serve as effective motivators to encourage participation and effort.

Are there any potential downsides to year-long booking challenges?

While year-long booking challenges can be highly effective, potential downsides include burnout or fatigue among team members if the challenge is not structured thoughtfully. Additionally, if the goals are perceived as unattainable or if there is a lack of support, it may lead to decreased motivation rather than increased engagement. It's important to balance challenge with realistic expectations.
