Looking for some advice please. I recently lost a dear friend to breast cancer (she was 35). I would love to do something in May to honor her and support her family. The kids (10, 5, 3) have trust funds set up. Would I be able to do a fundraiser with them as the recipients? I think the answer is probably no, but thought I would inquire anyway. Is the only other alternative to donate my commission? I'm more than willing to donate it during that month but I'd love some feedback if anyone else has done something like this. I was thinking I could donate my commission for the month and then give the host benefits to the family. What do you all think?

Thanks in advance!

You would need to have the organization be "Jeff's Trust Fund" or Smith Kids Trust Fund. You can definitely do that, just need to have the organization name in the contact. :)

That is what I thought too. As long as the check is made out to the "family trust fund" name then it would be considered for a fundraiser.

Thanks so much! I was hoping that was the case.

But have them check with their bank, to see if a check made out to the trust fund can be cashed. They may need to open a (free) account in that name for that to happen.
