Just wanted to share: My husband and I decided we REALLY needed to find a good hiding place for my daughter's trick or treat candy. We kept catching her sneak into her stash. I was about to throw away the box for my Ultimate Mandoline and put the candy in there. She was standing directly in front of the box when she asked me where her candy went! :) She's NEVER going to find it haha.

LOL!! That is funny!

I do the same thing with Christmas presents. We have a storage shelf in the garage with several boxes all marked with their contents. I have a couple of PC delivery boxes marked garage sale items. Those boxes are on the shelf year round. The only time they are full is during the holidays. It works and keeps other storage areas clear for presents not meant for the kids. ;)

Oh wow I like this one may have to use it myself.;)

Hilarious!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you decide to hide your daughter's trick or treat candy?

I decided to hide my daughter's trick or treat candy to manage her sugar intake and encourage healthier eating habits. It was also a way to teach her about moderation and the importance of enjoying treats in a balanced way.

How did your daughter react when she found out her candy was hidden?

Initially, she was upset and confused. However, after explaining my reasons and discussing the importance of moderation, she understood and even appreciated the effort to keep her healthy.

What strategies did you use to hide the candy effectively?

I used a few clever hiding spots around the house, such as in the back of a pantry, inside a rarely used kitchen appliance, and even in a box of seasonal decorations. I made sure to remember where I hid it so I could eventually reveal it to her in a controlled manner.

Did you set any limits on how much candy she could have?

Yes, I set a limit on how much candy she could have each week. We created a fun system where she could choose a certain number of pieces each day, which helped her feel involved in the decision-making process and made it easier to manage her intake.

What lessons did you learn from this experience?

This experience taught me the importance of communication and setting boundaries with my daughter. It also reinforced the idea that parenting involves making tough decisions for the long-term benefit of our children, even if they don't always understand it right away.
