ok.. I need some song suggestions for the Father-Daughter dance at my wedding.. I am leaning towards Heartland - I Loved Her First.. Is that too overdone now? What did you use at your wedding/ what are your suggestions?

There is a song called Daddy's Hands but I don't know who sings it.

What about "Stealing Cinderella" by Chuck Wicks? I love that song!

my dad and I danced to butterfly kisses

there is a song called butterfly kisses. If I had a dance at my wedding that is what I would have chosen. Not sure who sings it though.

Oh yeah, butterfly kisses is a good one too!

Good luck deciding! :p

Butterfly Kisses, performed by Bob Carlisle

I just googled to check the person who sings it and found this site Bob Carlisle - Butterfly Kisses Lyrics and on the side it has reception music and it gives different topics just might help you.

i LOVE my little girl by tim mcgraw.
its from the movie flicka.

Lyrics:

Gotta hold on easy as I let you go.
Gonna tell you how much I love you,
though you think you already know.
I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm.
You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born.

Your beautiful baby from the outside in.
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again.
Go on, take on this whole world.
But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl.

When you were in trouble that crooked little smile could melt my heart of stone.
Now look at you, I've turned around and you've almost grown.
Sometimes you're asleep I whisper "I Love You!" in the moonlight at your door.
As I walk away, I hear you say, "Daddy Love You More!".

Your beautiful baby from the outside in.
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again.
Go on, take on this whole world.
But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl.

Someday, some boy will come and ask me for your hand.
But I won't say "yes" to him unless I know, he's the half
that makes you whole, he has a poet's soul, and the heart of a man's man.
I know he'll say that he's in love.
But between you and me. He won't be good enough!

& what did you decide on your first dance song??

LOL my dad loves Staind so we danced to Zoe Jane... It really is a good song and not like butterfly kisses, no offense to anyone but EVERYONE does that song...

Good one, Meghan! Forgot about Tim's song!!

Yes, so what did you decide??? :D

Stealing Cinderella is very tear jerky, great song!!
Then theres the classic kenny rogers... Through they years...

Love to hear what you pick!
Nicole

My dad and I did "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion, but I always always always cry at Butterfly Kisses -- it makes me envision my husband and daughter on her wedding day and makes me cry!

Butterfly Kisses all the way

We did Butterfly Kisses too, but I didn't like it. My dad picked it, and honestly, I never heard it until the reception. My pick was "Unforgettable", the version with Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole. Dad won with Butterfly Kisses - it's just TOO cheesy for me, but he was happy so that is all that matters!!

I still love "I loved her first" - so sweet

"My girl" by the Temptations.

My dad and I danced to What a Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong - my dad loves this song and it worked great!

I am using "I loved her first" next month..But it was a hard choice between that and "my little girl" and I love the stealing cinderella song!! Guess I really didn't help, sorry!! See if you can try this link for some ideas

I vote for this one or "I loved her first". Butterfly Kisses is a good one too, but it is used SO much at weddings.

Still haven't pin pointed one. :( We have until Saturday to decide.. We at least have it narrowed down to 4 or 5! I am not a procrastinator at all ;)

It is narrowed down to.....
Clay Walker - That's Us
Jimmy Wayne - You Are
David Lee Murphy - Inspiration - I think we're leaning towards this one
Billy Dean - If There Hadn't Been You
Collin Raye - In This Life
Brad Paisley - She's Everything (He likes this one, but I think it's a little one-sided for a 1st dance.. but we'll still play it during the reception)

&& I found a book about the song 'I Loved Her First'. I got it for my dad, so I am going to use Heartland's song for our father-daughter dance..
Adam Sandler - Grow Old With You for Cake Cutting (We love The Wedding Singer)
ZZ Top (or Brad Paisley) - Sharp Dressed Man for the Garter Toss
Mindy McReady - Guys Do It All The Time for the Bouquet Toss
&& I still haven't chosen the song for the Last Dance or the Wedding Party Dance yet... I still have 36 hours to decide :)

Wow! You're picking a lot more dances than I did! Was only one...the first dance...for us. It was a slow fiddling tune by Richard Wood, because DH didn't want a song with words....

I love all of the songs you have picked!!
