What are some tasty recipe options for a heart-healthy diet?

In summary, a heart healthy diet is focused on reducing the risk of heart disease and promoting overall heart health. This includes eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats while limiting processed foods, saturated and trans fats, and excess sodium. To follow a heart healthy diet, it is important to avoid foods high in saturated and trans fats, such as red meat, full-fat dairy products, and processed snacks, as well as excess sodium. Despite these restrictions, you can still enjoy desserts in moderation by opting for healthier ingredients and portion control. When cooking, it is beneficial to use heart healthy techniques such as baking, grilling, roasting, steaming, and sautéing with minimal oil. Finally,

I have a friend who recently had a heart attack and has been in and out of the hospital 3 times in the last 2 weeks. They have put her on a strict diet...low sodium/low sugar. She loves to cook. She was complaining today about not knowing what to cook/eat..."I can't eat anything that tastes good" was something I remember...lol. Anyway, do any of you have any recommendations on cookbooks or websites that would have tasty recipes for her? Thanks for your help.

Do a search for the DASH diet which has lots of great info

I was going to recommend the DASH diet also. There are some good websites/blogs based on the DASH diet!

There are several cookbooks out that are recommended by the AHA. I think they will usually have the AHA heart on them.
