Hopefully this works....

Okay I tried to post the link above from last January about releasing the news. There was a lot of drama, and heartache. I was just trying to help prevent it again.

Amanda,

Thanks for posting this. I wasn't a member of chefsuccess until later in the year so I was unware of what happened.

Also, I was too busy at Leadership calling my recruits and letting them know all about the new products, trips and other changes!! Guess I wasn't supposed to do that.

No problem, I am not trying to spoil anybody telling anybody because I am all for sharing the news, especially if you want to know.

I'll share what I know if I know anything when the time comes by PM or e-mail-

Ann- I'm sending you my number by PM right now!!

Anne- You will be first on my list!!

I understood completely!

I'll want to be on that list too!!! My director isn't going this year - so this will be my source for info....and I HATE secrets!!!
I love that I am in Wave 1 of Conference this year.....first time for me to be wave 1 (that I could go) - and it kills me to have to wait when other people already know!

Grrrrrr....this just makes me even more frustrated that they don't offer the same thing for Mac users. I have investigated what it will cost to get the Windows compatible package for my Mac and it will be about $500!! I cannot afford that, so I will have to do it all by mail and by hand. My director is helping me out for now but she can't enter my shows for me forever so I'm going to have to start doing them by hand. What a pain!!!

Maybe a MAC version is coming too....the announcement said there would be more info at Leadership.....here's crossing my fingers for you (and all the other MAC users)

Should I be afraid that I understood completely? :D

Put me on the list!

The only reason information given out at Leadership should remain a secret would be for Directors to tell their teams themselves. There is no big secrets from Leadership like National Conference. At NC there are 3 groups getting the info at different times and it would be a real spoiler for the first group to spill the beans before the other groups went but Leadership is all in one group.

That's what I was just going to post, then I saw yours, Beth. For those who don't know (and part of the reason for the secret-keeping), many clusters have a big meeting in January to share all of the announcements, new products, etc. Personally, I LOVE surprises and never tried to find out ahead of time before I went to Leadership myself. I suppose if you don't go to cluster meetings or if your cluster isn't having one in January after Leadership, then I can see why you'd want to know. To each his own, I guess.:) But, I do agree with keeping things a secret on this forum until a certain date (not sure what that is.....maybe DebPC or Admin Greg will tell us). If you want to find out privately from someone, that's fine. There's is so much going on at Leadership, that I know it's hard for me to find downtime to call anyone anyway.

That being said....I can't wait until Leadership!!! That's the next BIG thing after Christmas and I can't wait.:)

That's a good idea Beth. Maybe if anyone posts on here they should put "Leadership spoilers" in the thread and we can decide if we want to read.

Frankly, I ALWAYS hear things on here before I do from my director anyway!

Me too! Thanks!

I've got three people to call from Leadership:
  • Carolyn in Florida
  • Gillian in Alaska
  • Laurel in California
(Plus my two recruits) What they do with the info is up to them! :D

Maybe we should start an official "phone tree" for Leadership info.

Gillian... could you add me to your info list? Thanks!

Maybe they will finally be offering a web based program!!!!! Then you wouldn't need to worry about MAC conversions?!

Lots of the other direct selling companies have web based programs and I know that PC has been testing things like this over the last few years--so maybe it will all finally happen!!!!!

Ok--have a PP question. I tried to make a password required on my laptop for PP, but it kept saying enter old password. I never had an old password, but if I leave it blank, it says invalid password. The other problem is apparently I clicked on the box to require a password. I didn't add one b/c it wouldn't let me & I exited out of the program. Now when I try to get back in, it is asking me for a password. I don't have one! Is there any way to get into PP on my laptop now? I hope so, b/c I only use it for shows! Oops!

Do you have an Intel-based Mac? If so, you should be able to get up and running for half that (around $260). Parallels is $80-$90 I think, and a full version of Windows I think is around $180.

I can't imagine doing all this manually. I signed this past fall, and researched to make sure I could get Windows running on my DH's iMac before signing. At the time I signed, my PowerMac was not intel-based. Since then, I got an MacBook so no more running to his computer and I can take it to shows. Whew!

I think this PP plus is great. Originally when I started, this was my biggest concern. The software was ridiculous, as far as learning as apects. I know we have our director to always turn to, but instructions or videos for most are always easier. This will be great. They are truly listening. I am very impressed!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently a web-based version is in the works per HO. When I contacted them with a PP question after I first started this past fall, I threw the question out there about future Mac compatibility. The guy told me that they probably wouldn't make a Mac version, however they were working on a web-based version. I think it's great news for cross platform use. Now they just have to be able to make it workable offline so that one can still enter data at shows without having to be connected to the internet.

It'll be great to have a web based version - I am looking forward to that!!

Use "password" as the old one. That is (I think) the default that ships with the software.

Or try your password that you use to get into Consultant's Corner...I think I've read on the CC page that it is the same password you use to get into PP.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!:D :D That did it! I had tried my CC password & then I thought maybe I had put one in a long time ago but didn't require it to log in. So I was trying every name I could think of, etc. Whew! Thanks!!

Glad I could help. I remember having this same problem.

Webbased versions are usually slower unless they update every 3 minutes. I hope this will not make a difference. Either way...all the new things sound great. I am very excited My first thought when I saw PP was that it needed to look better. The PC logo looks so great and looks so fresh that our software should look the same.

I hope that when HO uses the term "web based", they actually mean "browser based", which is any program designed to run within a web browser, whether the computer is hooked up to the internet or not. Most browser-based applications are cross-platform, meaning that they'll run on a Mac or Windows (hooray!).

But I really don't want to give up entering orders into PP at a show simply because I have to be connected to the internet in order to do anything.
