:D :chef: :blushing:

Okay, I usually make my menu for the week and go grocery shopping with those recipes in mind. I write down the meals on my big chalkboard in our kitchen. However, I guess I didn't do that this week.

So...what recipe do you know that calls for a packet of Ranch seasoning? It must have been from something on here or from a PC cookbook. Can you think of any recipes that call for it?

I dunno, but you can mix it with some bread crumbs or cornflake crumbs and make some pretty delicious oven-friend chicken.

Go to consultant corner and do a recipe search. Put in "ranch" in ingredient area and a bunch of recipes will come up for you.

Only one recipe came up, Classic Party Dip. This is going to drive me nuts! What on earth was I planning to make?!! lol

The Crunchy Whole Grain Chicken Strips w/ Apple & Celery Slaw uses Ranch Dressing mix. It's in the 29 Min. Vol I.

I typed in "ranch" under Specify Ingredients and a bunch came up. Try once more.

AHA! I found it! Someone here posted a recipe called Southwestern Layered Trifle. I had printed it off and found the copy in my catalog tote. :)

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I have an ingredient but can't remember what recipe it was for?

If you have an ingredient but can't recall the recipe, try searching online for recipes that include that specific ingredient. Websites like Pinterest or recipe blogs often have search functions that allow you to input ingredients and find matching recipes. Additionally, you can check your cookbooks or Pampered Chef recipe cards if you have them.

How can I organize my pantry to avoid forgetting about ingredients?

To keep track of your ingredients, consider organizing your pantry by category (e.g., grains, spices, canned goods). Use clear containers and labels to make it easy to see what you have. Regularly check your pantry and create a list of items that need to be used up soon to help you remember what you have on hand.

Are there any apps that can help me remember what to do with ingredients?

Yes, there are several apps available that can help you manage your ingredients and suggest recipes. Apps like Yummly, SuperCook, and Whisk allow you to input the ingredients you have and generate recipe ideas based on them. These tools can be very helpful for meal planning and reducing food waste.

What are some common ingredients people forget about?

Common ingredients that people often forget about include spices, canned goods, and frozen items. Ingredients like dried beans, specialty sauces, or unique grains can also be overlooked. Keeping an inventory of your pantry items can help you remember what you have and inspire you to use them in your cooking.

How can I make sure I use all my ingredients before they expire?

To ensure you use all your ingredients before they expire, plan your meals around items that are nearing their expiration dates. Create a weekly meal plan that incorporates these ingredients, and consider batch cooking or freezing meals to extend their shelf life. Regularly check your pantry and fridge to stay aware of what needs to be used up.
