I had a customer how just got their replacement last month, and it cracked!!
She was afraid to tell me about but finally did. I called HO and they are sending one right out to her. This is getting wierd.

Oh, by the way. Go Warriors!!!
 
Serously, I am suprised HO has not done a stop sell or back order on these stones, with SOOO fricken many defects!
 
Lovely...just had a customer whose MEDIUM stone with handles broke into 4 pieces in the oven. Seems like it's not just the Large stones with the problem. :(

I was wrong; it IS a large stone. I just thought it was smaller b/c it was broken into so many pieces. She's only had the stone for about 2 weeks...that's not cool.
 
So far, I've never had a problem with mine(Earned it when it first came out - and it lives in my oven), and I've never heard from a customer who has had a broken one either.
 
GREAT...my large stone with handles just broke into 2 pieces while cooking:cry: After reading this I may just get the round one with NO handles. However, I must say I love the handles. But I don't won't to have to deal with this issue again.:rolleyes:

I'm hoping TPC is taking note of all these cracked stones when they are thinking of improving products.
 
I am so PO'd :( I have had my round stone w/handles for a while but hadn't used it. Well tonight after a really crappy day I decided to use it for a snack in the oven. Rustic peach pie on the stone. Well the dang stupid thing exploded!!!!! What a mess!!! Stupid fire alarm went off and my oven is black inside.

I'm soooo mad I could spit nails:mad:
 
Sometimes a classic should just be left alone....
 
I know this is an old post but I just had to update it.....Number 2 just cracked on me!!!! UGH! This stone just isn't worth the headache! :cry:
 
I just had to have one replaced for a customer!! They really need to do something about these! I didn't tell her it has been a problem - glad I didn't because she was really happy w/the speed in which PC completed her replacement. I would have been mad if I were her since she was cooking dinner when it broke!
 
We have used ours for a year now and carried it places with the cinnamon rolls and never had a problem. Sorry there has been so many though!
 
Wahhhhhhh Mine just broke tonight :( Just making pizza :( I've had it since came out and no problems but then don't you know I read this thread the other day and poof it broke in the oven :( Into 3 pieces none the less LOL Did an adjustment and going to mail back the stone tomorrow. But want to call first to see if I have to mail it all back or just a piece because I did it online and it said I had to mail the whole thing back and I don't want to pay that shipping LOL So going to call because I believe we only have to send back a palm sized piece.
 
You would think that they would do something about it if they are getting rid of the regular flat sone come march 1.
 
I have always just mailed a piece back, never have asked HO and have never had a problem getting a replacement.

I just had ANOTHER call this week for one. I lost count, but I think I'm up to around 7 now....in less than a year.
 
This is yet just one of the reasons why I am sooooo unhappy about them retiring the flat round stones. I sold my last one I earned and now I have to get one so I can start using it at shows in March - not very thrilled about it at all.
 
I really don't want to get one because I don't know how I'll store it. I'm afraid the handles will come in contact with other things and break. I have 2 round stones that I just don't use very often at all. I tend to reach for my bar pan for everything, and play the bar pan up at my shows. I've only sold a couple LRS w/handles, all from outside orders. I sell mostly bar pans cause that's what I promote. Most recipes can be put on the bar pan, so that's what I do.
 
I had my first one to replace for a customer last month. I agree about the storage issue. I have had to do more product adjustments in the past two months than ever. I had missing product, damaged product, defective products, products shipped to the wrong address. It has been crazy!

I had another one happen the other day too. What bothers me is that they are taking away our last option of a stone without the handles. I'll be getting at least one more before they're gone. I will not be getting the one with handles.

I just had another one returned. 4 of the 11 I've sold have cracked...so far. PC has such great quality products. I hope they get a "handle" on this situation. Ok, it's late.
 
I am on number 14 broken large stone with handles, INSANE!!!!! Just got the 14th call today.
 
One I gave as a wedding gift broke and the girl didn't want to let me know! Found out through her mom. I got it replaced w/no problem. But.....since there have been so many break....(at least 6 for my customers) why would we be getting rid of the large stone w/o handles? Love mine and never had any problems. Everytime I have someone order the handled stone I just hope there will be no problems.
 
I think the problem might be that people don't realize that they are putting it against the side of the oven or it may be hitting the door - this stone is a little bigger than others because of the handles. That could cause a stone to break.

I have had just one customer that had problems with her stone and she got 2 replacements and finally exchanged it for something else. We brainstormed everything I could think of that she might be doing and we couldn't figure it out - I never asked if it was touching the wall or door of the oven though. Just a thought...
 
I agree Beth - I have double ovens and the top oven is convection - I can't use it in my convection b/c it's not as deep and the stone touches the oven door.
 
I am now up to 16 broken stones with handles, totally unacceptable. Have not gotten a response from HO about my compalint. They are all from November too.
 
I talked to HO yesterday and asked about the Large stone with handles and the lady said that there are no issues with this piece. UGH This will make my 3rd stone. I know for a fact it doesn't touch the sides or the door. I have also been asked if I store it in the oven - nope! I will say that each time it happens it is getting messier. First time it broke into 3 clean parts - second time wow it was all over my oven.

I had a customer buy one the other day and it took all I had not to say anything.
 
At my show last night I told everyone that if they wanted the round stone w/out the handles to get it now.
I didn't like the one with handles because of storage issues and a few other reasons (didn't list them).
I really have a problem with the handles and I was hoping they would keep both!:cry:

Add me to the laundry list of people doing returns of the large round with handles!! I've done my own, but DANG IT! I delievered the stone Friday and this afternoon its already broken! The woman is a PC groupie so she knows what is going on!! ARGH!! Then of course the on line adjustment isn't working so now i have to wait til tomorrow to call! FRUSTRATING!!!
 
And another large stone with handles to do an adjustment on. I had been reading about all of these posts and it finally happened to me. I am scared to even sell these stones now. I sure hope they do something about this soon..
