stinkin' ladybugs!UGHHHH! We are starting the bi-annual infestation of ladybugs at our house again! I know it sounds so dumb, cause most everyone thinks ladybugs are so cute, or that it is good luck to find one in your house, but not by the 100's!!:yuck: I'm not kidding. In the afternoon if you go out back and look at my house it looks like it has been splattered with paint they get so thick! This winter was not too harsh so they stuck around, but the swarms are coming back!

And it gets better, in a few more weeks we'll have the annual wasps back too! And then it will be the ants! Ahhh, the comforts of living in the country! We've tried talking with the local nurseries to see what we can plant to either deter the ladybugs or have them swarm a certain bush, but there is nothing. Apparently they like the warmth of the siding on houses! Nice!

We got lots of ladybugs at our old house too. We lived near an apple orchard. It was bad.

We had that at our last house too! It was so gross!! Now if I see one I'm like "not again!" but so far no swarming at this house and we've been here almost 8 years.

We have them too, but pretty much only in our (finished) basement. They are a pain! And the cat must've decided they don't taste good because he never tries to eat them. He just plays with them.

They aren't cute, in my opinion!:yuck:

If you have an Ace Hardware nearby, they carry a tablet that you dissolve in water and then spray it on your house as high as you can reach. Be sure to get around all the cracks, around windows, doors, the bottom edge of your siding, any seams in your siding and the ground. Not only will it kill the Japanese Beetles (Lady Bugs) but it will kill for up to six months.

We used to get the beetles in the house by the thousands (literally!) now that I spray we only get a few. They also don't cover the outside of the house on the warm side.

I don't remember what it is called, but if you ask someone that works there they would know what you are talking about. I'm sure other hardware stores would carry it too.

We have pets and it has not seemed to hurt them.
