i am doing my first fundraiser this morning at a senior citizen center, i am really not sure how to go about this,i'm not doing a demo so to speak because this will be right after there lunch. i basically plan on setting up some stuff for them to play with. however my concern is my catalogs. i really don't have alot of them, so i can't afford to have too many out at one time, because i have a show on saturday plus i have a catalog show i need to get ready for. any advise on any of this would be appreciated.

thanks
Deborah

Hi Deborah,Congratulations on your first fundraiser! It's great that you're taking the initiative to raise money for a good cause. Here are a few suggestions for your event:1. Focus on the experience: Since you won't be doing a demo, make sure to create a fun and engaging atmosphere for the senior citizens. Set up different stations with games, puzzles, or other activities that they can enjoy. This will make the event more memorable and encourage them to participate.2. Use digital catalogs: Instead of physical catalogs, consider using digital versions that can be accessed on tablets or laptops. This way, you won't have to worry about printing and distributing physical copies, and it's also more environmentally friendly.3. Have a sign-up sheet: Set up a sign-up sheet where the seniors can leave their contact information if they're interested in purchasing from your catalog. This way, you can follow up with them after the event and send them a catalog if they're interested.4. Offer a special deal: To make the event more enticing, consider offering a special deal or discount for those who make a purchase during the event. This will encourage them to browse through your catalog and potentially make a purchase.5. Don't stress about the number of catalogs: It's understandable that you don't have a lot of catalogs, but don't let that stress you out. You can always rotate them out throughout the event and have a few on display at a time. You can also offer to take orders for those who are interested in purchasing but don't have a catalog on hand.I hope these suggestions help you with your fundraiser. Good luck and have fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some effective ways to promote my first fundraiser at a senior citizen center?

To promote your fundraiser effectively, consider using flyers, social media, and word-of-mouth. Create visually appealing flyers that highlight the event details and benefits of attending. Share them in common areas of the center and local community boards. Utilize social media platforms to reach a wider audience, and encourage attendees to invite friends and family. Additionally, personal invitations can make seniors feel valued and more likely to attend.

What types of products should I feature from Pampered Chef for a senior audience?

When selecting products for a senior audience, focus on items that promote ease of use and convenience. Consider featuring kitchen tools that simplify meal preparation, such as easy-to-handle utensils, small appliances like slow cookers or food choppers, and items that promote healthy cooking. Highlight products that cater to specific dietary needs, such as low-sodium or low-sugar options, to resonate with seniors' health concerns.

How can I engage seniors during the fundraiser to ensure they have a good time?

Engagement is key to a successful fundraiser. Start with a warm welcome and introduce yourself and the purpose of the event. Incorporate interactive elements like cooking demonstrations or tastings of featured products. Encourage participation by asking for volunteers to help with demonstrations or sharing their favorite recipes. Additionally, consider hosting a raffle or giveaway to keep the energy high and encourage attendees to stay engaged throughout the event.

What should I prepare in advance to ensure a smooth fundraiser?

Preparation is crucial for a successful fundraiser. Create a checklist of items you need, including products to showcase, promotional materials, and any necessary equipment for cooking demonstrations. Set up the space ahead of time to ensure everything is organized and accessible. Practice your presentation and familiarize yourself with the products you’ll be showcasing. Having a clear plan will help you feel more confident and ensure the event runs smoothly.

How can I follow up with attendees after the fundraiser?

Following up with attendees is essential for building relationships and encouraging future participation. Send thank-you notes or emails expressing your appreciation for their attendance and support. Include a recap of the event, highlight any special moments, and share how much was raised for the cause. Consider offering a special promotion on Pampered Chef products as a thank-you gesture. This follow-up can help maintain interest and foster a sense of community among attendees.
