Anyone have any good recipes for pork chops in the DCB?

Hi - I did a pork steak in the DCB and it was tender and delicious. I have done one where I put the steak in the bottom, placed quartered potatoes around the edges, and covered it with cream of chicken soup. Baked in microwave for 20 minutes. I also did one where I put different rubs, seasonings on it and baked for 20 minutes. Both turned out great. Pork chops should be very similar.

I do smothered pork chops - mushroom soup, sour cream, fresh mushrooms, onion, potatoes cut on the mandoline, s & p, bake on 325 till chops are done, then let rest w/lid on dcb

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the DCB and how is it used for cooking pork chops?

The DCB, or Deep Covered Baker, is a versatile stoneware piece from Pampered Chef designed for microwave and oven cooking. It retains heat and moisture, making it perfect for cooking pork chops quickly while keeping them juicy and flavorful. You can use it to bake, steam, or even grill your pork chops, depending on the recipe.

Can you share a simple pork chop recipe that can be made in the DCB?

Absolutely! One simple recipe involves seasoning your pork chops with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs. Place them in the DCB, add a splash of broth or apple juice for moisture, and cover. Microwave on high for about 8-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F. Let them rest before serving for the best flavor.

Are there any tips for ensuring my pork chops turn out tender and juicy in the DCB?

To ensure tender and juicy pork chops, choose chops that are at least 1 inch thick. Marinating the pork chops for a few hours before cooking can also enhance flavor and tenderness. Additionally, avoid overcooking by using a meat thermometer to check for doneness, and allow the chops to rest after cooking to let the juices redistribute.

Can I use frozen pork chops in the DCB, and how does that affect cooking time?

Yes, you can use frozen pork chops in the DCB! However, you will need to increase the cooking time. Start by microwaving the frozen chops for about 12-15 minutes on high, checking for doneness with a meat thermometer. Ensure they reach an internal temperature of 145°F for safe consumption.

What are some variations I can try with my pork chop recipes in the DCB?

There are many variations you can try! Consider adding different marinades, such as teriyaki or barbecue sauce, or incorporating vegetables like onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms into the DCB for a complete meal. You can also experiment with different seasonings, such as garlic powder, paprika, or Italian herbs, to change the flavor profile of your dish.
