Being a new consultant, and sort of a new house wife...i wanted to do a pasta salad at one of my shows. With the warmer weather upon us thought it would use a lot of products and i wanted a dressing for it that can be made in the mmp Thanks so much!

There's an Italian dressing on the MMP that's good. Or the NewsWire/Weekly Bites had a Greek dressing that uses the new rub. A Greek pasta salad (with tomatoes, olives, feta, etc.) would be fantastic!

Here's one of my absolute favorites. Instead of whisking (step 1), prepare the dressing in the MMP.

Mandarin Pasta Salad

Dressing
1 t finely chopped, peeled fresh ginger root
1 garlic clove, pressed with garlic press
1/3 c rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
¼ c orange juice
¼ c vegetable oil
1 t sesame oil
1 envelope Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix
2 t sugar

Salad
8 oz bow tie pasta, cooked as directed
½ cucumber, scored, seeded and sliced
½ c diced red bell pepper
½ c coarsely chopped red onion
1 (6 oz) pkg. fresh baby spinach leaves
1 11 oz can mandarin orange segments, drained
2 c diced cooked chicken
½ c sliced almonds, toasted

1. For dressing, whisk all ingredients. Cover; refrigerate until ready to use.

2. For salad, place pasta in large bowl. Add cucumber, bell pepper, onion, spinach, mandarin oranges, chicken and almonds to pasta. Pour dressing over salad and toss. Serve immediately.

Yield: 12 servings

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some quick pasta salad recipes I can prepare for my Pampered Chef events?

Some quick pasta salad recipes include a classic Italian pasta salad with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, a Mediterranean pasta salad with olives, feta, and spinach, and a creamy ranch pasta salad with bacon and peas. These can be prepared in under 30 minutes and are perfect for busy consultants.

How can I make my pasta salad more appealing for presentations?

To make your pasta salad more appealing, consider using colorful ingredients like bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and fresh herbs. Present the salad in a clear Pampered Chef bowl to showcase the vibrant colors, and garnish with fresh herbs or a drizzle of dressing just before serving.

Can I prepare pasta salad in advance for my events?

Yes, pasta salad can be prepared in advance. In fact, it often tastes better after sitting for a few hours or overnight as the flavors meld together. Just be sure to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator and add any fresh ingredients, like greens or dressings, just before serving.

What types of pasta work best for salads?

Short pasta shapes like rotini, penne, or farfalle work best for pasta salads as they hold onto dressings and ingredients well. Whole wheat or gluten-free pasta options are also great choices for accommodating different dietary preferences.

How can I incorporate Pampered Chef tools into my pasta salad preparation?

You can use Pampered Chef tools like the Food Chopper for chopping vegetables quickly, the Mix 'N Chop for mixing ingredients, and the Salad and Berry Spinner for washing and drying greens. These tools can save you time and enhance the presentation of your pasta salad.
