Anyone make a skillet cookie and then let guests decorate with bottles and EAD? Does frosting from a can work good for that? Any other tips? Thanks...

I haven't used the skillet cookie, however one of my past hosts did bake cupcakes and we let all of the guests decorate their own using the Decorator Bottle Set. We did use the canned frosting and it worked fine. I've also used the canned frosting at home when in a rush. HTH!

Skillet cookie? Is there a recipe for this? Where can I find it? It sounds great!

OK, I answered my own question....found it....is there something else we can use to slice/serve it? Can we take it out of the skillet before cutting? (onto the cooling rack, or cutting board?)

Okay, please share, I looked and can't find it... I can't seem to do a good search, if I type in Skillet Cookie, I get all the recipes that include cookie and all the recipes that have skillet in them... is there a way to get "Skillet Cookie" without all the others, I have this problem with everything I try to search for. TIA!

I would fill the Bottles BEFORE the show b/c in case you have never used them, they are a pain to fill (at least to me anyway).

I looked under files, then searched "skillet cookie".

Thanks, that worked!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Skillet Cookies and how do they differ from regular cookies?

Skillet cookies are large, thick cookies baked in a skillet, resulting in a chewy center and crispy edges. Unlike regular cookies, which are typically individual portions, skillet cookies are baked as a single large cookie that can be sliced and served like a dessert pizza.

What are the best types of bottles to use for decorating skillet cookies?

For decorating skillet cookies, squeeze bottles with fine tips are ideal as they allow for precise control over the design. You can also use piping bags with different nozzle tips for more intricate designs. Make sure the bottles are clean and dry before use to avoid any contamination.

What is EAD and how can it enhance my cookie decorating?

EAD stands for Edible Art Decor, which includes various edible decorations like gels, glitters, and colors that can be used to enhance the visual appeal of your skillet cookies. Using EAD can elevate your cookie designs, making them more festive and visually appealing for any occasion.

What tips do you have for achieving the best results when decorating with bottles?

To achieve the best results, practice your designs on parchment paper before decorating the cookies. Use a steady hand and apply even pressure to the bottle for consistent lines. Start with simple designs and gradually work your way to more complex patterns. Always allow the cookie to cool completely before decorating to prevent smudging.

Can I use leftover cookie dough for decorating later?

Yes, you can save leftover cookie dough for later use. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze it for longer storage. When you're ready to use it, simply thaw it in the refrigerator overnight and then proceed with baking and decorating as desired.
