Chinese Visa Application: Employer Address - HO or Home Address?

Click For Summary
When filling out a Chinese visa application, individuals are unsure whether to provide their home address or their employer's address since they are technically not employees of the company referred to. Many suggest listing "Self Employed" or "Self" as the employer. There is also mention of a trip to China planned for two weeks, with a note that the trip conflicts with a conference, causing some disappointment due to ongoing family issues.

I'm filling out my Chinese visa application and it asks for my employer and employer's address. Would you put the address for HO or your home address? I put my home phone number for the office phone number.

I'd put your home address since we're technically not employees of PC.

Should I list PC as my employer then? Or just leave that section blank?

I always put Self Employed/Direct Sales in those types of spaces. What do the rest of you do?

I always just list SELF as my employer.

Where ya been girlfriend? Yep - we are going to China for 2 weeks. FIL is taking us. I'm looking forward to the trip - but I'll have to miss conference :( I'm sad about that part.

I've been dealing with family issues....just keeping my head above water right now. Have fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between HO and home address in the Chinese visa application?

HO stands for Head Office, which refers to the main office of your employer, while home address is your personal residential address. In the context of a visa application, you need to provide the address that is most relevant to your employment status.

Should I use my employer's head office address for the visa application?

If your employment is directly tied to the head office and you are applying for a visa related to your job, it is advisable to use the head office address. This helps to establish your employment relationship clearly.

Can I use my home address instead of the employer's address?

You can use your home address if the application specifically requests your personal information or if you are applying for a visa that does not directly relate to your employment. However, for work-related visas, the employer's address is generally preferred.

What if my employer has multiple locations?

If your employer has multiple locations, you should provide the address of the location where you are primarily employed or where your employment contract is registered. This ensures clarity in your application.

Is it important to provide accurate employer address information?

Yes, providing accurate employer address information is crucial for the visa application process. Inaccuracies can lead to delays or denials of your visa application, so ensure that the address matches official company records.
