Cheffers in the midwest & northeast are hanging in there. News over here is lots of storms in the midwest & stifling heat in the northeast.

Sending prayers up for your safety & a break in the weather for you all!:)

It's been raining all week long! Luckily no tornados in this area but the severe weather has been bad enough. We've had to go to our in-laws twice already in the last two weeks. It's also flooding ALOT in the surrounding areas. Some are as bad as the bad flood we had in 1993 that shut down the city for a long time. Nothing has happened yet and luckily we are not in a flood area. My hospitality director has her basement flooded and I just saw a picture in the paper of another consultant in our cluster who had 3 feet of water in her basement.

By the way, thanks for thinking of all of us!

Lots of rain and at least two tornadoes touched down around here yesterday. I guess DH won't be able to cut the grass today....

My DH was so dissappointed that he couldn't do any outside work today. Um, it was bright and sunny all day yesterday.

My adult children are soggy and we are stifling. My son's house in Milwaukee had well over 6 inches of flooding in the basement and it's pouring again. We are in the middle of 100+ degree weather - I'll take the heat (of course I am fortunate to be in air conditioning - but then I will get that electric bill! ).

Yeah, I complain about the heat and the smoke from the fires a few counties away but my house is not in jeopardy from water. I will not complain anymore.

Um yeah, so my brother had to go to my mom's house where here 40 foot tower was LEANING due to the rain! The base was put in about 6 feet of concrete back in the 80's.My brother had to go on her roof, push it back and try to put straps, chains and guy wires around it to hold it straight and HOPE that when the 4-5" of rain in the backyard goes away it is secure and stays straight. He has 2 pumps going in the backyard out to the curb/sewer. While he was away trying to save my mom's yard, his power and sump pump went out and flooded his basement!!!!

It is so hot here in PA. My boyfriends dog that lives with us is so hot he can't quit panting. Poor thing sounds like he is going to have a heart attack. I have taken about 5 showers between yesterday and today so far. Ugh.
I do feel blessed that it is not pouring and flooding though.

That sounds like LOADS of fun! We finally got a break in the thunderstorms & rain here, who knows how long it will last.

We had severe weather Friday night. I was at my cluster meeting. My husband took my son w/two of his friends to his baseball game. Only about 15 minutes into it the tornado sirens went off - right next to the ball diamond! They of course cancelled the game and told everyone to leave. My husband decided to try to drive all the way home - about 10 miles!! Half way home the van (full size) is shaking in the wind so much he thought it was going to blow over! A swimming pool, tree branches, etc. were flying across the road in front of them. Then a police officer in front of them turned on his light and blocked the road. Needless to say he was going to head back in the other direction anyway. They went to WalMart until it blew over!

I told him he was CRAZY to not go into WalMart in the first place!

Luckily everyone is okay and our house didn't have any damage even though we had 61 mile an hour winds!

It's been very hot and humid here for almost a week - I hate it!

Here's a picture of the storm that moved in early this evening. It was pretty wild looking - five or six different colored clouds moving in as layers...

All I can say is...Holy Mother!

Those are some amazing clouds. As well as some beautiful houses. We are in the middle of a heat wave here with will be the third day of 90+ degrees. We had some storms move threw Sat. night in our area but nothing too bad. I hope everyone that is dealing with the bad weather is okay. Try and stay cool.

The radar doesn't look good for some states this morning.

A tornado hit just north of me in North Fort Myers yesterday. This wasn't from the mess in the northeast but we are in the "Rainy Season" pattern now. You'd be surprised at how these smaller storms pack a punch. Hope everyone is OK this morning. :)

Lots of flooding around here too. My SIL had her basement flood and 1/2 their crops "go down the Mississippi on the way to New Orleans". Yet, THEY were some of the luckier ones! We are very lucky living in the town we do. We don't typically get hit so hard. We had tornado sirens going off though.

Wow... that is gorgeous! I'm always in awe of the beauty Nature can provide even when that beauty comes with dangerous storms.

We're melting here... literally. I don't sweat so good (sorry if that's TMI) but that means I can get heat exhaustion just sitting here. No AC by choice, just fans...

The schools called with their auto-messenger to alert us that they'll early dismiss for today and tomorrow... and a 'regular' early dismissal for their last day on Weds. I think we're heading to the pool later today... it's so hard on our systems... we had to debate whether we'd put the furnace on only a month ago! *sigh*

So true! We sat on our porch Saturday night, and watched the storm, with lightning and thunder and rolling dark clouds....it was beautiful. We were also very thankful for our safe home in the middle of the storm!

(We are also trying to teach DS not to be frightened by storms....)
