I'm not sure which thread to post this under... and I know it's been answered before... so forgive my repetition. I have a host who was SUPPOSED to be doing a catalog show in Jan... and I coached her via phone and email and snail mail ... however now that I asked her if she's ready to close... of course she's been too busy etc... and wants to work at it for about 10 days to get some orders ... sigh... I know this was bound to happen so I smiled REAL big on the phone and was very nice... and I'm praying it will turn out to be a decent show for her. My question is... how does it work when I submit this Jan show in Feb ... the commision is based on Feb right? but it won't count towards Feb. points totals correct? or what is correct? I want to accomadate her and have her end this feeling positive so I'm giving her lots of encouragement but since it's the first time I've had to do it I wanted to have the commision thing straight in my own mind... thanks for hanging on all the way to the end of this rambling post! :) Have a Wild and Wacky Wednesday!

Yep. It counts for your February commission, but it won't count for any February promotions. Uggh!

You're correct. If it's submitted in Feb, the sales will count for feb comm check, will NOT count towards double points month but she'll be able to get the jan promos.

If she doesn't care, see if she'd rather change it to the feb special and you'll get the double points and she'll get the stoneware specials! I'm doing that with one of my "supposed" jan catalog shows that did nothing! and she likes stoneware better anyways!

You're right, if you submit a January show in February, your commision is paid and based on February sales, but would not apply towards February incentive. I had the same thing happen to me. I offered to make it a February show since no one had taken advantage of the guest special. I left it up to the host on which host special she wants. If she wants the disciunt on the stoneware, I'll put it through as a February show and get double points for it. It was my only show for January, so I wasn't worried about needing it to earn the bags, so I'd actaully prefer to submit it as a February show.

Hope this made sense!

Well.. .the only issue is that the past host wants the 12" skillet. The past host is my SIL ... I guess I could ask her about it but I do think she wants her cookware.. and SHE placed her order right away when she got the Jan info ... what would you guys do in this situation? If I could get my SIL the pan in another way... then I'd rather change it to Feb too but I don't know how to get her that pan for $50 at this point.

I had a host do this. She changed her show to Feb though. She talked to the PH and she was fine with the stoneware promotion. I was happy to change this one b/c she is at $400 already and I am dreaming of double points! I always tell my host that they HAVE to turn in by the last day of the month to get that months special - this cuts down on them dragging things out.

Here is another option. Does she have enough to make it two shows? She could do a Jan show for that special and do a Feb show for that special. Then she could get two specials for one show. They just have to both be enough to qualify as a show. That was an option I offered my host.

I'm relieved to hear that you can carry over-- I have a very similar situation right now.For some reason, I had it in my mind that you couldn't carry over-- I think I was still thinking of SS months, when you couldn't carry a show over if you needed that show to help you earn the SS packages. (Does that make any sense?)

If your Jan show is turned in by Feb 5th, it will count for the Jan promotions!:)

Ok, I'm in my SS #1 month and in the same situation with my MIL who expects me to get all her orders. I'm sitting at 140 right now until tomorrow when I pick up two more orders (payday fanatics) but it was supposed to be a Jan show. Just to make sure I'm clear, I can't carry it over to Feb-it had to have been submitted by midnite last nite? No one is getting any of the specials for Jan not even the host special, so can I switch it to a Feb show or can I still submit as Jan???

It will NOT count for January, so, I would switch it to a Feb show since no one is getting the specials and then it would count as February you would get double point and it would count for SS2. I sure hope this is not making you miss SS1 if you were close to it! I am so sorry if it did.

The only thing it would count in January for is the cookware bag promotion if you are wanting them. It will not count for your sales for SS unless it is by midnight on the last day of the month.

Thanks! That was the clarification I was looking for and really I'd rather have double points since I wasn't close to the bonus for this month. It's been kinda hard with 2 ice storms and now snow again to convince people to host for me. It woulda helped if we'd had electricity LOL. I think I'll do just that and switch the month for the show since I'm the only one who really wanted any cookware.
