for those of you at conference now. What do you think of Merrill's new line of clothing and other goodies?
Reasonably priced?
good selection?
QUALITY??

In order:It's...okay.
Some of it, but not all of it.
Ues, there is a wide variety, but I'd like to see even more.
Brand names for clothing. There may be hope for them, but frankly, I'm underwhelmed by their line of golf shirts which have no decoration except for the logo. (No stripes on the collars or cuffs, for example.)They also have a lousy check out system with a line that is so long people were missing big chunks of the general sessions.

The lines were awful last year too with VIP - and Merrill was there to witness that. Looks like they could have learned or prepared better.....

How are their prices?

He said some of it was good (reasonable) but not all. Not being a snot just pointing out where he said it:) ;)

Oh yes you are being a snot! (Just kidding!! LOL!)
Cathy, you can smack me for that comment when we meet up!

So, here's a dumb question...

Am I correct in assuming that Merrill is it? There are no other vendors there?
Do they only take our PC Debit card?
I just need to know if I should deposit most of my cash in the bank, or bring it with me to pay for "vendor stuff". Does Merrill take cash? (Ok, so there was more than one question...sorry!)

I don't think Merrill will accept our pc debit card but I guess current conference people will be the only one to answer that! But I don't think that they are connected to us like that!

Only Pampered Chef takes the PC Debit card. That's why it's called the PC Debit Card. Does Macy's take your Jc Penney card for payment? No.

Last year Merrill did NOT take cash. You're better off writing a check or bringing a credit or debit card issued by a bank.

And Merrill's lines were ridiculously long at Leadership, too. You think they would have worked on that problem before Conference. Oh well.

I'm sorry but that is dumbest crap I've ever heard! Regardless, of the reason, cash should be accepted! Some people do not do checking accounts for personal reasons! And credit cards get way to many people in trouble! I have both but I like using cash a lot, because it's easier to control, although I must admit, I like the comfort of a check card!

okay! Here's a story! Your post made me LOL! Because my silly self tried to pay at Sears the other day with my JC Penny card and just when I was ready to blow my top she pointed out that it was my JC penny card and not Sears!:o  :o :o  Talk about D'OH!!!!! Boy I am glad I kept my cool! I could just hear God talking to me as I walked away, after giving the right card!, "see what paitence does, it kept you from acting like a Fool!!!" :D

The reason I asked about the PC debit card is because someone had told me (and I don't remember who it was!) that all I needed to bring to conference was my debit card and some cash for incidentals (food, cab ride, etc...)
You would think that Merrill could set something up with PC, seeing as how they are "exclusive" to PC now. Oh well. Thanks for the info! Weird about the cash thing. I don't have a lot of credit cards, so I guess I'll have to bring my checkbook. Didnt really want to bring it, but now I'll have to. <sigh> :(

YOU can only smack me once...so you better make it a good one!! LOL!! :D

Merrill is plastic only, and bring along you PC Debit card to use at TPC counters. Restaurants are expensive - if you take a cab between the Sheraton and the Hilton, it's about 7 bucks. There's a Dominick's a block from the Sheraton with a nice deli in case you want to eat cheap. Well, as relatively cheap as you can get in Chicago.

I have a buncha paper PC dollars - can I spend them at NC?

There is a subway across the street from the Palmer House Hilton. We did a lot of $2.49 sandwich specials last year.

I hope their sizes are better. It seems that they weren't consistant with their sizes before.

Carolyn - I don't think you can. I remember last year, my director tried to get us PC dollars (paper) for attending conference, and she couldn't purchase them there - she told them why she was getting them, and they told her that we wouldn't be able to use them there anyway, so it didn't matter. She ended up giving us cash to spend at conference (and I bought those $20 flip flops with PC on them - lol!) ;-)
