Today's calls included

Another host's phone is now temporarily disconnected!

one of my calls tonight caught me so off guard I didn't know what to say. I asked for the potential host, and her husband mentions that my name & # is still on their fridge. He then goes on to tell me that his wife has run off with another man, and that maybe if she ever comes home to their family she may be interested:eek:  Talk about stumbling for words:yuck:

Welcome Back Amy! I am so glad you're here!

Becky, how did you do with 3-2-1 today? and how about you, Paulette?

Well, I rescheduled a January show for March....so not a total loss....and I left about a million phone messages (okay, maybe not quite that many!). I have several people who wanted to wait until after the new year to book - now to get a hold of them!

Oh - and I spent some time talking with my new recruit! :D She is so cute - she has the catalog memorized by page #....I didn't have the heart to tell her it would all be changing in 2 months!

Are you ready to rock 2008? This is OUR year to earn the trip....and I think you will be earning TPC for recruiting!

Yes, I'm ready to kick it into HIGH gear!! I really want TPC, and I think recruiting is the only way to get it this year as my sales aren't that great. BUT I did get the cruise!!!:D :D :D :D
This plan really works! WE are ALL going SUCCEED!!!!

That made me laugh & cringe at the same time! What could you say? "Did she take the stoneware with her? Hey, would you be interested in earning some free and discounted kitchen tools?":D  :D

Makes you wonder if the story is true or if he wants to get rid of the PC lady...

Congrats on your cruise Amy...

Sorry had to pop in...my 3-2-1 isn't daily, more weekly for my level but I'm trying to tell everyone I see stoneware is 20% off in January and I'm doing a catalog show! :D

BTW, I'd call during the day on that one and see if the husband still answers, if he does then pretend like you didn't realize you called yesterday in all your calls...

If she answers...hmm....

Do you see how close I am to my blue star???

But it's now 10:30 - and I really need to go to bed - but tomorrow - I'll be singing the blues!:sing: :sing: :sing:

YAY! I did my 3-2-1 again....

1 February Catty show booked (she wants to collect orders this month so I can submit it early Feb.)

2 Customer Care Calls (one will check out the outlet)

1 Neighbor that will be giving me an order later this month.

1 Host Coaching call to my January Catty host that was not sure if she would do it or not....she now seems motivated.

But to put a damper on my night, one of my only two January Cooking shows cancelled on me....sigh....

Hey everyone! It sounds like we are all getting off to a great start this month! I'm so glad you are back Amy! I would hate to lose you wonderful contribution! I want to learn all I can from you about recruiting!!:D

I was only able to get three calls in tonight, and one I had to leave a voicemail. I was able to schedule a February show though! The other one was to someone new to PC, so I am going to send a catalog to her and follow up next week.

YIPPEEEE!!! 3-2-1 rocks!!!

well I have spent my afternoon waiting in line to get my passport and come home to a host wanting to cancel/reschedule her show "for a later time, too much going on right now". UGHHHH!!! I'm going to be on the phone like crazy tonight. That's the second reschedule/cancel in as many days!!  I'm also going to be calling the latest back to see if we can atleast do a catalog/online show. I WANT DOUBLE POINTS!!!:grumpy:

   I've attempted host coaching calls, CCC's, and even team calls and was only able to get ONE live person on the phone!! It drives me crazy when you really TRY to get the 3 part in and yet can't get anyone on the phone.:yuck: I mean, do people really have a life without Pampered Chef?
Oh well, I have my first show of the year tomorrow. Not expecting a big crowd, but the group is known to be big spenders:love: , so keep your fingers crossed for me. I am soooo nervous, seems like forever since I've done a cooking show.

My first show is the 14th - and I am already getting nervous! It's been a month since I've done a live show!

I've been able to talk to 2 January Hosts tonight - one was a narrowly missed cancellation! A Lia Sophia Rep who found out she had a meeting that night! Her DH encouraged her to still have the show, so she finally decided to keep the date (plus the other date she wanted was booked!)

Other than that, I haven't talked to a live person either - and I consider it mostly futile to leave messages for potential bookings...

I did not do a very good job last night. I got so off guard when someone called out of the blue to order that I forget to offer a show to her. That was last night or the night before. Don't remember. I've talked to my hosts or e-mailed them because the invites have been going out what seems like every day because I have four shows the week of the 14th. My first January show is next Tuesday, and today I was talking to my January 24th host and printing out the postcards for my show on the 26th. Planning to catch up on the 3 part of 3-2-1 at my shows.

I spent part of the afternoon setting up my own mystery host show for late January - sent my evites out and already have 6 people coming! Talked to 3 friends on the phone to personally invite and they all said yes. I ended up sending out 38 evites and will mail an additional 8 more tomorrow - this is the 3rd year I've done this and it just keeps getting bigger and better!

Bad day for contacts today on my end. Hopefully I can do 6 tomorrow to make up for todays lack of calls. My first show isn't untill the 27th!!!! That will be 1 1/2 months between my show last month and this month! That makes me so nervous.

I know what you mean Ellen - its been since November 30th that I've done a cooking show and I don't have one until January 18th - can't wait to get back in the swing again! Good luck with your calls!

I'm having a hard time getting upstairs to make calls too. DH had to work late unexpectedly, so everything is getting pushed back. We just talked though and he is cool with me taking an hour tomorrow afternoon to make calls to make up for it. So it's 6 for me tomorrow too Ellen! Oh, and my first show isn't until the 30th!!

What is it with today?! I made about 5-6 calls this afternoon, and got nothing but machines. And then, after dinner, I layed on the couch for about 30 minutes, until 7pm when I planned on making calls, BUT I was too tired and had no ambition by then. 7:30, I left for BUNCO at my neighbors. I did get an order for the Apple Wedger though!. My first show is Monday. My last show was Dec 14th, so it has been about 3 weeks or so! I think we are only expecting 4-5 guests.

I will be on the phone in the morning. I need a few more bookings for January!

I'm here... I did contact my 2 Jan hosts. 1 has to postpone.. Grandpa is dying in the hosp.... What do you say to these??? The gal is in my networking group so I know it's not a snow job. I told her how sory I was and to let me know how she would like to proceede. She does still want her show but is overwhelmed right now.

2nd host... all is well. I got her invites out and we agreed do do a slilly slipper contest.... I like to do fun/cozy stuff in Jan.

I think we are finally back to normal arround here after or big adventure east for the holidays. Hubby went back to work yesterday (I love him tons but YAYYYYY!!!) Saturdays tend to be good for me to make calls so I getting my top potential hosts lined up and am getting on the phone! (It wont "kill" me right? LOL!) Some days I truly feel like I will keel over if I have to pick up the phone for usiness reasons. Does it ever get easier?

Ok so for today....
5 calls made
talked to 1 live person. She is seriously thinking of booking. This is someone (a friend) I have wanted to book for a long time. She likes nice things but is majorly cheap! I told her I knew what a bargain hunter she is and the Jan special looked like it was something just right for her. She will be chatting with her hubby and looking at more details on my site.

Called and left a msg with my recruit lead regarding a training I am going to on monday. She was a cons for 3 years and has taken off 18 months and now wants to come back.

well I guess picking up the phone did not kill me but it was tough taking the first step! But hey.... I'm still here and will keep going!

Great Job Paulette! I need to get busy today myself. I am having a hard time getting motivated!

back from first show of year. Just shy of $300, low attendance only 4 orders, but she is hoping to gather a few more Monday at work. Did get one booking for early March, so I'm really happy!
I told DH when I got home that it was nice to not have the self-imposed pressure of having a great (read: high sales) show. Nov & Dec I was pushing so hard to get the cruise that I was so uptight if I didn't walk away with high $$$. It's nice to start with a clean slate! And even better she wants to close Tuesday the latest, so that means I'll definitely be getting the tablecloth..........isn't silly how we somtimes will drive ourselves crazy over every little carrot that is out there? Not that the tablecloth isn't a great incentive, it's just that I will probably NEVER use it, but I sure do WANT it!;)

Oh, I forgot to mention, that I think my booking from tonights show is a possible recruit lead too! I kept noticing that she was intently looking thru the catalog AND even turned to look at the consultant kit when I mentioned it was on the back page. If I have learned nothing else about recruiting it is this: IF THEY LOOK AT THE KIT WHEN YOU MENTION IT, THERE IS INTEREST
I purposely did not pursue it tonight because I want to take the time to develop a relationship with her during host coaching. She came late, so she missed my whole spiel on how I run my business.

I made my 3 contacts today, with no significant results to report. Left a few messages on machines. Called a catty host from Nov/Dec, but the person that answered said she was not there, but it sounded suspicious! Also got a dreaded e-mail from yet another host cancelling her January show on me! UUGGHH!!!!!!!! That is like 3-4 so far this month, plus the other host that has the disconnected phone.

Paulette - Great job! Way to get it going!

Amy - that would be great if that person signs. Good idea to wait until her show though. I think she will feel way less pressure. Of course, there's always making it her first show!:D

Brenda - I'm so sorry you had another cancellation! And at least you made your 3 contacts.

I did not do good at all today. In fact, I didn't make any calls. This is just an excuse but I woke up with a migraine so I didn't get started til around 11am. Then we had to go run some errands, and then decided that DS3 is going to need to stop taking naps so I didn't have any down time really. DH's Steelers are playing now (not doing so well) so there is no chance of me getting on the phone now. So tomorrow is major phone time and I will get nine contacts in to make up for Friday and today. I can't get out of the groove now! I especially need to get some shows on the books since we are coming up short on the budget this month!

know about being short on the budget since I lost my job last month and now have been sick for a week

did 2 of my contacts 2 day and got 2 orders
which was nice since I too have experienced the cancelation monster.

told they spent too much over the Holidays but I do have 2 show going that we are planning to close on the 16th to get the Dbl pts. YEAH.

trying to really push the whole thing of how for a lomited time PC is giving an extra $50 in FREE producr just for getting $500 in sales. I tell them my of my host usually get $90 in FREE products but for a limited time YOU can exchange the $90 for $140 FREE products how does that sound to you? Alot seem to be interested and planning to try to get the $500 in orders.

I am hoping that my voice will be well so that I can get on the phone Monday. This screeching is killing me.( my voice)

fingers crossed for biz. to pick up

I like that wording Pam!

For me I made NO contacts today. I have been totally unmotivated! Tomorrow is another day I suppose......

I LOVE it when people tell me that their friends don't have $ after Christmas. I always use this line. "Yeah, I know what you mean, but I noticed that in the week after Christmas the malls/stores are packed as are the restaurants. Either they got alot of gift cards of they still have $$. People are ready to get back to "normal" life". Of course you have to be careful how you say it, but I say it laughing because it is true.
