i am from the states but need to live in london for husband's job until feb. i will be home to do shows for a couple weeks this fall so i am covered until nov - but i was just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for how to entice people to host a catalog show while i am away. i don't want to go inactive and i don't want to take a leave as i am so close to my $15,000 in sales. i was thinking of offering a free 8" skillet or something shiny like that!! maybe do a do you love a bargain with choices of products for them to choose from. i only have 3 shows to try and get people interested in this promotion - as well as my monthly newsletter which i will also advertise this in. i'm just looking for a little inspiration! thanks so much for any help!!!

ps - i don't want to find an american base here as i am sure there is already a consultant there and i wouldn't want to step on toes! if someone knows anyone on a base in london area and thinks i could be involved - please let me know. for example - if i had a party for my friends i am meeting - could i mail it to the base through someone? that's probably illlegal though!!

One idea is to offer an incentive for hosting a catalog show while you are away. For example, you could offer a free 8" skillet or some other shiny item to anyone who hosts a catalog show while you are away. You may also want to consider offering discounts on products, or holding a "Do You Love a Bargain" event where customers can choose from various products. You could also use your newsletter to advertise this promotion and let people know about the possibility of hosting a catalog show while you are away. You could include a link to a page or form on your website where people can learn more about the promotion and sign up to host a catalog show. Finally, if you want to get involved with a base in London, you may want to contact them directly and ask if they would be willing to allow you to participate in their events. It's likely that they will have a consultant already, so make sure to be respectful of their existing arrangements.

Hi Jen,First of all, congratulations on being so close to your $15,000 in sales! That's a huge accomplishment and I can understand why you don't want to go inactive or take a leave. One idea for enticing people to host a catalog show while you're away is to offer a special discount or promotion for anyone who hosts a show during that time. For example, you could offer a 10% discount on their order or a free gift for hosting a show. This could be something from your product line or even a gift card to a local restaurant or store. You could also try reaching out to your current customers and see if any of them would be interested in hosting a show for you while you're away. Sometimes people are more likely to host a show when they know the consultant personally.Another idea is to create a sense of urgency by offering a limited time promotion or special deal for those who host a show during the time you're away. This could be a buy one, get one free offer or a discounted product bundle.Lastly, don't be afraid to use social media to promote your catalog show opportunity. You could create a Facebook event or post on Instagram with all the details and encourage your followers to share with their friends. As for finding potential customers on a military base, you could try reaching out to local military spouse groups or organizations and see if they would be interested in hosting a show for you. You could also offer a special discount for military families as a way to thank them for their service.I hope these ideas help inspire you and good luck with your catalog shows!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a catalog show and how does it work?

A catalog show is a type of direct sales event where hosts showcase products through catalogs rather than a live demonstration. Guests can browse the catalog at their convenience, place orders, and the host collects the sales. This format allows for flexibility and can be conducted online or through physical catalogs, making it ideal for those who may not be able to attend a traditional party.

What incentives can I offer to encourage participation in a catalog show?

To boost participation, consider offering incentives such as discounts on future purchases, free products for orders over a certain amount, or entry into a raffle for exciting prizes. Additionally, you can provide exclusive access to new products or limited-time offers to create urgency and excitement among potential buyers.

How can I promote my catalog show effectively?

Promotion can be done through social media, email newsletters, and personal invitations to friends and family. Create engaging posts that highlight the products and any incentives you are offering. Utilize eye-catching graphics and testimonials from satisfied customers to generate interest. Don't forget to follow up with reminders as the show date approaches!

What are the benefits of hosting a catalog show while I'm away?

Hosting a catalog show while away allows you to maintain sales momentum without being physically present. It provides an opportunity to reach a broader audience, as guests can participate at their convenience. Additionally, it allows you to balance personal time with business, ensuring you don't miss out on potential sales during your absence.

Can I track sales and customer engagement during a catalog show?

Yes, most direct sales companies, including Pampered Chef, provide tools to help you track sales and customer engagement. You can monitor orders placed, customer interactions, and overall sales performance through your consultant dashboard. This data can help you understand what products are popular and how to tailor future shows for better results.
