The apartment complex that I am living in is having a block party at the end of the month. Yeah! My manager said that she would love for me to set up something for Pampered Chef. Any recommendations? I am concerned about the weather because the average temp. in our area is a little above 100F  . This is an outdoor afair. It will be around 7pm. Should I make any samples of food:confused: ? If so, what. Any advice or recommended fliers would be much appreciated.

From my experience, chocolate chip cookies go over well with everyone, young & old. I served mine on my stones, so people could see them "in use". Cookies would go over well b/c they don't need refrigeration or silverware to eat. Plus, I made mini ones and in doing that, you can get a TON of them per batch. I used my son's baby food spoons when portioning the dough, and it worked really well. (they were about the size of a quarter) If I remember correctly, I think I got probably 6-7 dozen cookies from a single batch. I'll keep brainstorming for ya.

That is a good idea Amanda. I would definetly recommend having food to get people to your table/ booth. Maybe have some ice water or drinks in the QSP if it is going to be that hot! Chocolate chips might be melting in that heat. I think that many small items would be good too. I live in Alaska, so I really don't know what kinds of food works best out in the heat, but a few different choices of smaller items would be best. Show off your chillzane pieces by putting items that need to stay cooler on them. Good luck, and hopefully you will get TONS of bookings. Remember that every person has their own group of friends that is a potential show!

Cookies are a good idea, also maybe lemonade mixed in the family quick stir. I wouldn't set up tons of stuff since it's outside...I would definately take this month's & next month's specials though. Have flyers posted with the guest/host specials, recruiting special, etc. Can you have a drawing? Give away some free cooking shows & maybe a gift certificate redeemable through you. You might also have a list available of the discontinued products.

Cookies are a great idea and to make smaller cookies, use the small stainless steel scoop and you can display the batter bowl or SS bowls, w/scoop along with the stones.

Takes this for what it is, a suggestion.Christie Northrup said something that made me really think about how we do business at fairs. She said that people become very overwhelmed with all teh stuff they see. Basic Senosry Overload. She suggests, get this, pick ONE item you really love and put it on a table.
Then as people are looking at the product, you can say something like, "This is one of our wonderful products. Would like more information about what we do?" Or if they ask for more info, as Belinda Ellsworth said, giv ethem your 30 second commercial. Then get their name, address and phone number. Or just a name a phone number to call them for an address. You will only get the info from people who are really interested and not the looky loos.
Cookies is great idea for two reasons. 1) They do go over very well and 2) if it's that hot, let a bakery or grocery store make them. No one has to know you didn't make them home made. Just unpack them before setting up and taking them down to your fair.
Like I said, Just a thought.
