My Granna, Beulah, just turned 101 on the 3rd of March, and still lives pretty much on her own in an apartment attached to my cousin's house. A little while ago, she was taken to the hospital by ambulance because she was so dizzy and weak she couldn't stand and she has crackling in both lungs.

Prayers are appreciated.

Thanks...

At this point, the docs aren't concerned about the "crackling" that was being heard at home. The dizziness, however, is a huge concern. Apparently, she just falls over if she tries to stand, and can't even lift her head to sip some water without waves of dizziness washing over her. They are running a bunch of tests (MRI, blood and urine work-ups, etc.) to try to find out what's going on. Thank for praying!

Sending prayers.

Prayers being sent, hope all turns out ok.

Prayers and hugs

Ok...good news, and waiting news...

The good news...they think the vertigo/dizziness issue is from the crystals we all have in our ears (who knew?) falling out of their pouch. There are treatments to help them go back into their pouch, and she seems to be responding to the treatment, so they believe that is the problem.

In a series of unfortunate events, the person in the MRI machine before Granna wasn't cleared properly, and was wearing a base metal ring that shot through the machine and BROKE IT. So, they had to transport Granna in an ambulance around the corner to another facility with a working MRI (we're talking small town medicine here folks). So, until the results are in, we won't know for sure about a stroke or other issue (that's the waiting part). There has since been a major automobile pile up in the area, so it might be awhile.

They are keeping Granna overnight (at a minimum) to make sure that the treatments are working and she can get around on her own.

Thank you for your prayers.

Great news; hope she's better and able to return home soon.

Prayers and Hugs to you and your family. Bless her for still being so independent and able to live on her own!

Granna is being moved today/evening to a rehab center to continue work on her strength and balance. This morning, she woke up and had a REALLY hard & scary time with not knowing who she was, where she was, if the man in her room was really there (he was...it was her doctor). My mom heard him through the phone and asked Granna if that was her nurse, and Granna asked "do you hear him too?" :( It's hard...

Mom is staying the night tonight with her at the rehab center to help in the morning if the same thing happens. Thank you for your continued prayers!

Update from my Mom...Granna is looking good, but is having some heart issues. She went into atrial fibrillation during the night and has also had several bouts of pretty severe chest pain. Her cardiac enzymes are elevated, which could mean she has had a heart attack. Those tests will be repeated at 3 pm (Arizona time...no daylight savings). The cardiologist will see her sometime this afternoon.

My mom's having issues with her lungs (leftover from being hit by a drunk driver two years ago) and is seeing her doctor about that this afternoon. Prayers for her are appreciated as well.

Thank you.

Praying for your family, bless your hearts...

Not sure what's going on with Granna's heart. Her cardiac enzymes continue to rise, but her EKG is normal. If she is up to it in the morning, they are going to do a heart cath to see if there's a blockage somewhere...That's all we know. Please continue to pray as God leads you. Thank you.
