 Okay, got a dilema. I have a parent who's child was accepted for a summer intensive ballet summer camp, which of course, is very pricey. I want to help her out and do some kind of fundraiser, but does PC allow that sort of thing. A fundraiser for an individual person?

Yes, but they will not cut a check to an individual. If you enter the name of the ballet camp, then the parent can forward the check to the camp when it's received. Or you can ask them to set up a fund at a local bank, and have the check made out to that (like the "Suzy Student Ballet fund", from which the parents could write checks to the camp). Many banks have free accounts of various types, so there shouldn't be a charge for this.

Yeah! That make a lot of sense. Will do that for her! Great and thanks for the info!!!

You're welcome. Good luck! I hope it's a very successful fundraiser - both for you and the dancer.

You also have the option of submitting it as a regular cooking or catalog show and then donating a % of your commission.

The negative to this is you cannot take it as tax write-off and, of course, you are giving up income.

On the up side, you can designate yourself as host and retain the host benefits in lieu of a full commission. This can also be a good option when dealing with fundraisers for an individual versus an organization. (Some organizations have specific restrictions on how they receive payments versus donations...so this can bypasses those hassles.)
