My SIL has the Professional cookware set (I can't remember how many pieces there are) and I have the executive set. I don't really know how similar the sets are, so I wasn't sure what to tell her when she asked me about this problem...

She said she was boiling eggs and water collected on the outside of the lid around the rim. Is that normal? She hosted my first show and got the cookware then, so it is 2.5 years old and has never had a problem like this. If I do an adjustment can I just get the lid, or do I have to send the whole pot/lid back, or do I have to send the entire set of cookware??

TIA!!

I would say, call them & see what they have to say. The lids are Lifetime guarantee...so worse comes to worse, you have to pay shipping....

Do you think it is a defective, or just a fluke? She said that the handle on top was tight, so could it just be condensation coming out the sides and landing on top of the lid? I wouldn't really be bothered by it, but I want her to be happy...

I would call HO and have it replaced, the lids are Lifetime guarantee. One of my host last year bought the executive set and she said that one of the pots seem warped. She called HO & she had to send it back and they replaced it with a new one.

I was looking at my executive lids and they look similar to what I am picturing the professional lids look like- to anyone that has both...

Are the lids the same or very similar? I think the executive lids sit in the pan more and the prof sit more on top, but I am not sure.

The professional lids are domed. They are different.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Professional Cookware Lids Supposed to Collect Water When Boiling Eggs?

Yes, it is normal for the lids of Professional Cookware to collect some water when boiling eggs. This condensation occurs as steam rises and cools on the lid, creating droplets that can fall back into the pot.

Why does water collect on the lid when boiling eggs?

Water collects on the lid due to the steam produced during the boiling process. As the steam hits the cooler surface of the lid, it condenses into water droplets, which is a common occurrence in many types of cookware.

Is the water collection on the lid a sign of a problem with the cookware?

No, the collection of water on the lid is not a sign of a problem with the cookware. It is a natural result of the cooking process and indicates that the lid is effectively sealing in steam.

How can I minimize water collection on the lid?

To minimize water collection, you can try reducing the heat slightly to lower the amount of steam produced or use a lid that has a venting option to allow some steam to escape while still covering the pot.

Does the water collection affect the cooking process?

The water collection does not negatively affect the cooking process. In fact, the steam helps to cook the eggs evenly. If you find that too much water is collecting, simply wipe the lid with a towel during cooking to keep it from dripping back into the pot.
