Who May Find This Useful

Consultants looking for insights into the launch experience and those interested in training tips or product discussions may find this thread informative.

I was at Springfield, MA..and they keep the rooms cool to keep people awake and for those who have hot flashes. I fit into both catagories!! I was very comfortable.

Our production guy didn't go to on stage things very quickly and sometimes not at all. There were 4 screens and we depended on them to see what was going on.

We always find an inspiration with Launchs and personally, I love them. I miss conference, but not the long expensive travel. Loved being gone only one night.

As was mentioned above...some excitement and some disappointments but in the end, I am excited about the fall. Where I am from we are having a drought situation (lessened by an all day rain last week). When we were released from FL, it was a down pour, thunder and lightening. The windshield wipers were in shock!

Great to see our PC family and friends!

Make notes for yourself while it is fresh in your head. When/if they give a survey, you can tell them! I am not going to a launch this time, but I remember the same issues last January. No drinks or ice for drinks after lunch, cold (but I knew to bring a sweater, AND more water). But those are more the facility folks. It is like they want you to hurry up and leave.
i usually makes notes of things I did or didn't like but this year there wasn't much on either side!

Aren't those lunches the WORST? LOL I complain about them year after year! ha ha!

Our lunch was pretty good - I usually get the gluten free meal because it tends to be on the healthier side. Mine was a turkery (or chicken couldn't tell which one!) salad with gummi bears. The regular meals were like Linda said - I could have done with either meal this time.

I thought San Antonio launch was good. It was cold, but all things Pampered Chef are so I bring a sweater, always!! The lunch was a turkey wrap (lots of turkey, wheat wrap), pasta salad, pickled okra, cherry tomatoes, and some tasty peppers, 2 cookies, an apple and a bag of chips. Quite tasty I thought. The info, speakers and live recipe demo were all good, laughs and tears both on my part in several spots. I liked the info I got and the training was pretty much things we already know (bat may not be doing) and good to hear again, (and again and again). Booking, recruiting, asking, asking, asking, etc. I left encouraged and uplifted and once again thankful to be a part of a company that truly seems to care about their Consultants. I really love what I do and I truly needed to be there! Will be able to tell more about the products when it's ok to share and when I try them in my own kitchen, same as always!!!!

I enjoyed fall launch better than spring launch. The 2nd half didnt drag on like in spring. But we had jean Jonus and she is amazing! Next year we are going to Pittsburg, the 2nd week and I'll have to be patient again, something I'm not very good at. Lol

Did they already announce where/when next years launches are going to be?

Those of you w/ pasta or potato salad, how cool! Yes, the wrap was better than the regular "sandwich" they usually provide, and we had a bag of pretzels, apple and a cookie. I'm just not a lunch meat fan.

And yes, FREEZING! Don't normally have to worry about that for spring launch as I tend to wear a sweater anyway since it's Feb but will definitely remember to bring a sweatshirt or something next summer! :)

I know Feb 2 and Feb 9th, 2013....but not all of the locations. I just know Charlotte, NC and Toledo, OH.
My SIL was at Columbus, and she texted me that much information at least.
She's thinking about coming down to NC for our Spring Launch so we can go together (more fun with other people you know!).

WOW! I thought July 28th and Aug 4th were late!! Now Spring will be even later than that. I don't like that they are revealing the new products soooo close to the change over month. Makes training on them in time much more difficult.

I know. That's what I thought. I figured folks would just L:love:VE that. haha.

Well I MAY be submitting 2 shows in July totaling over $1250 but I won't earn any free products because:

a) The host of the small show wanted the June specials, so it was sent in as a June party.
b) The host of the $1000 show probably won't close until Friday and what a $1,000 host wants, she gets!
Unless she turns in $1500 by Wednesday (she's $600 away from that) then nope, no freebies.

Oh well, I'll take the $240 commission and LIKE IT!

If THIS all discouraged you a bit, from what I understood at Launch, you may not have to worry about it in the future.... ;)

That sounds like a nice/interesting piece of information. I look forward to hearing more after next weeks launch.

I know for sure that Pittsburgh is Feb 9 for Spring Launch!

Denver was freezing cold, too!!! I did get to see who CK was and met her on a break - nice to put a face with a name from CS. It was fun to see her get lots of recognition :)

The ONLY information you got from me was to SUBMIT your 2 July shows because the reward is awesome! AND that spring launch is in St Louis Feb 2. I don't recall any other specifics being laid out here. Besides, if you're worried about seeing anything that would spoil the surprise, you could avoid this particular thread.

I was in Phoenix and place was super cold and the box lunch was bleh. The wrap was no good :yuck:. The potato salad was delish and the cookie too ! Had a few tears shed when hearing some of the speakers  and it was great! But I those of you who don't have at least their two shows submitted you will want to try your best to get 2 shows submitted!!! YOU will be happy!!:love::thumbup::thumbup:

IF anyone is sending new products, etc, please send to me, [email protected]. This is the first time in years I have not been able to go. Please don't anyone yell at me for asking ...

Ok I am going to put on my "mean director" hat here. If you didn't make the investment to go--for whatever reason, I don't care....." please do NOT ASK about what happened. Wait like everyone else. This is YOUR business and you make the investment to go--or not go--for various reasons. Those of us who DO make the investment to go get the information first. That's the rule. You no go--you no learn info till after everyone else does.

Home Office will post everything you need to know on Sunday. Please don't ask for spoilers.

Forwarded PMs to those who asked. If you hear anything more, please PM me back.
Thank you, to the folks who helped us!

I kinda got the impression this is the kind of thing you are looking for:One of the things that "stuck" with me was during one of the testimonial talks, the woman gave an example of something that embarrassed and humiliated her. She said she decided to not let that moment define her, it was just one moment in time, and she dusted herself off and kept on going, learning from her mistake. I have thought a lot about what she said, and in a lot of ways I let little things define my business. The year Disney was our trip, I worked hard and to earn it, but at the end, just didn't have the recruits, and in many ways threw my hands up and said it's too hard. I let a small think define how I was going to work my business. Which by the way lead to a dead end. So my take away from her talk: figure out how to stay focused, our business is flexible not optional, don't let one moment define you, set huge and small goals, never stop learning.

My tip was when Jane (head of promotions) said that her pet peeve is when she hears consultants waiting until the month of the host special to call the host that wants that particular item "on sale"She said, "Folks, cookware, cutlery, and bamboo are 50% off EVERY MONTH of the year! They are not just a host special, so stop waiting to contact your potential hosts." "Have them host a show and get the higher dollar items at 50% and then take advantage of the booking benefit and get an item at 60% off to build a collection."

Thank you! Yes, that is what I was looking for! 20 people might hear the same thing but take 20 different things away from it!

Oh my goodness....I have never thought of it that way! That is so dead on. Thank you Brenda for sharing this. You really got my mind going! I am one of those consultants that would make a list of what people want. Not anymore. I'm such a dork for not thinking this way before!!!!!

Thanks to all who shared a little with us. Some of you are lucky and have the conferences in your backyard. For me, each launch and Sizzle would cost me around a $1000, so $3000 for all 3. $1000 is a lot to spend for 1 day. We, too, are excited. I can understand the reasoning for not wanting to spoil the surprises for those that will be attending. But enough of slamming people that are excited and are having a hard time waiting.

Sandi

PAMPERED CHEF HOME OFFICE requests that information from the conferences NOT be shared until after the final one is held. Every year we have the same issues here on CS. Don't slam the people that are reminding people to follow the rules. It is too easy to mistakenly give info that shouldn't be shared when conversations are going on. - I did it last year on DCS. I felt awful that I did it and was reamed for it even after apologizing (I gave a product category, not what they were, but someone got very angry with me even though someone else had said even more - I had asked her to take it down so the surprise wasn't ruined and people wouldn't get upset and then in another conversation I had unconsciously said Grill). Nothing should be said and then no one will "slam" anyone.

I understand that some can't afford it or choose to spend their money on other things. I have done the same. I understand that we all want to know the details as soon as we can. We are adults and should be able to have a little patience. We all will know on Monday (someone said Sunday so maybe even before I think). It is only a few days and will not affect our businesses. If you MUST know then PM people you have friended that you know went already. Many of them will share privately.

Just don't get mad at those who are reminding us of the rules.

Where do you live? It would also cost me at least that much each to attend so I don't. I live in Alaska.
