I am PEI's Food Bank Coordinator for 2008 and don't have any experience with this. I just wonder what other Coordinators are doing. I want to start planning the fundraiser, but would like to do something a little different and was looking for some ideas from anyone. I know you guys have tons!! :)

1. Host a food drive: Ask local businesses, schools, churches and other community organizations to collect non-perishable food items. Have them set aside a week or two to focus on the food drive and provide collection bins, flyers and other materials to help promote it.2. Hold a bake sale: Ask volunteers to donate baked goods and snacks to be sold at your fundraiser. You can set up tables in a public place, like a park or mall, or ask a local church or business to host the event.3. Coordinate a 5K run: Ask local runners and fitness enthusiasts to join in a 5K fun run to raise money for your food bank. Set up a registration page online to collect donations for participation.4. Have a movie night: Ask a local theater to host a special screening of an older movie that you pay for. Sell tickets for admission and have volunteers staff the event.5. Raffle off prizes: Ask local businesses to donate prizes for a raffle. Hold the raffle at your food bank or another public space and charge a fee for tickets.6. Organize a car wash: Find a public space (like a parking lot) to host a car wash. Charge a fee for car washes and use the proceeds to benefit your food bank.7. Plan a bowling tournament: Host a bowling tournament at a local bowling alley. Charge a fee for participation and use the proceeds to benefit your food bank.8. Arrange a yard sale: Ask local businesses and individuals to donate items to sell at a yard sale. Have volunteers staff the event and collect the proceeds.9. Hold a charity auction: Ask local businesses and individuals to donate items to be auctioned off at a charity auction. Charge a fee for admission and collect the proceeds for your food bank.

1. Host a Charity Auction: Collect donations from local businesses and community members and auction off items such as gift baskets, gift certificates, and experiences.2. Organize a Food Drive: Partner with local grocery stores, schools, and businesses to collect non-perishable food items for the food bank.3. Hold a Benefit Concert: Reach out to local musicians and bands to perform at a benefit concert. Charge admission or accept donations at the door.4. Host a Community Yard Sale: Encourage community members to donate items they no longer need, and hold a yard sale with all proceeds going to the food bank.5. Organize a 5k Fun Run/Walk: Partner with a local running club or organize your own event to raise money for the food bank.6. Plan a Bake Sale: Ask community members to donate baked goods and hold a bake sale in a busy area like a farmer's market or shopping center.7. Host a Dinner Party: Invite friends and family over for a dinner party and charge a donation fee for each guest. You can also ask for donations to be made in lieu of gifts.8. Coordinate a Raffle: Reach out to local businesses for donations and raffle off prizes. Use social media to promote the raffle and sell tickets.9. Create a Crowdfunding Campaign: Use online platforms such as GoFundMe or Kickstarter to create a fundraising campaign for the food bank.10. Partner with a Local Restaurant: Work with a restaurant to host a charity night where a portion of the sales goes to the food bank.11. Hold a Talent Show: Invite community members to showcase their talents and charge an entry fee for participants and attendees.12. Organize a Car Wash: Ask for donations in exchange for washing cars in a busy location.13. Host a Movie Night: Partner with a local theater or host a movie night in a park. Charge admission and sell concessions with proceeds going to the food bank.14. Plan a Silent Auction: Gather donations from local businesses and hold a silent auction at an event or online.15.
