SO, um, it turns out that I am the Food Bank Coordinator for 2009 in my area. I think I missed the announcement or email?
Anyhoo, have any of you lovely ladies ever done this before. Tips, suggestions etc.

Honestly I had wanted to do this for awhile and my D told me she was the coordinator and then I never heard anything about it. I was talking to a lady at National, and I did make 2 minutes to talk to her again at Leadership. I am very happy and excited, I am just taken by surprise!

Congratulations!

I think you have to do an annual fundraiser for them or something and you also present them with a fake check representing a corporate contribution - maybe?

I was the coordinator here for 2 years. They want you to do a fundraiser and we used to take the check in to present it twice a year but now it's mailed directly to them. I kept in contact with them every few months and attended their events. They surprised me by asking me to speak at one of them - I am one that needs prep time and they said it as we were seating for the first speaker to talk. I am so glad that I promote it heavily at my shows because I jotted down a few key words and winged it. I was actually complimented by several people afterwards. They also presented a big fake check. I gave them a trivet.

Oh, and we tried to set up a work time that team members would go in and volunteer but since my team mostly lives further from the bank than I do (I'm an hour away) that never worked out.
