Glad to hear you are okay, Janet. Thoughts and prayers are coming your way!

Oh gosh, what a pain, but I am so glad you are okay!

glad you're ok Janet. We went through that with my son a few years ago. The brakes on his car didn't work correctly...he got a ticket for driving too fast for weather conditions. I think he was driving 30 in a 45...maybe. But anyway, his car was totalled and he slid into another car and it was totalled. Insurance said "Car is totalled and we are picking it up." They gave us more than we had paid for the car 3 years before...we bought it used. They took off money for cig. burns in the seat that were there when we got the car and there were a few other things, but he was able to put a little money with it and buy a great pick-up. Hopefully you will be able to get what you need. Our insurance was very fair and quick...we have USAA insurance for army officers and their families. It has been a lifesaver on premiums. I pay God will meet you needs.

Thanks Shawnna - I am at peace that all will be fine, although anxious for quick resolution. After reading the "Do not participate" thread and also what a friend wrote yesterday on Facebook, I rejoice in God's blessings that He has already given me...Here was her post:Discontentment: Might as well rob GodDiscontentment, for me, does not make sense. Not because I have been given so many blessings, though I have. Not because I can always look outside of my little padded world and find someone who has less than I do, though I easily could. Discontentment doesn't make sense because it is unbecoming of the redeemed to steal from Christ.Someone I love, who knows me very well spoke this rebuke to me one time. I actually wrote it down.
"Amy, you will find what you are looking for. When you are discontent you are refusing to give glory to Christ for the evidences of His grace in your life. That is satanic. You are despising His presence in your life in the little things. He showed up a hundred times today and you worked hard to put His light under a bushel."I will never forget those words. That sting was divine. I was robbing God of glory. I was telling my Maker I wanted more than His son (unthinkable). I was belittling the everything that Christ gave to purchase me. I hate to think it, but I know I'll do it again.I can even do this in response to my failures. I can assess them in human terms. I can tell myself I need more from the people around me, and drain them dry with my wrongful expectations. I can manipulate my circumstances to maximize my so-called happiness. All the while I forfeit opportunities to produce contentment, in myself, beyond what I ever imagined. The quickest way to contentment is like everything in Christianity; it's opposite of what you might guess at first. Glorify Christ and He will give you joy and peace. Serve and sacrifice for others and be blessed. Christ, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross. We are no different. Contentment comes to us in the very same way.So, thief (I'm speaking to myself) go therefore and steal no more. In Christ, you will find you already have it all."Not that I am speaking of being in need,
for I have learned in whatever situation
I am to be content...Yet it was kind of you to
share my trouble."
Phil. 4

I don't care about late! One more person praying for the finances is just fine with me!

Janet, Glad to hear you are alright. I have actually thinking about you alot this week with the weather as cold as it is and am so glad to hear that despite the accident today that you are doing well and I pray that everything will work out for you with your vehicle.

Prayers coming your way Janet! You WILL get the vehicle that was meant for you and your family. Thank goodness you and your family are unhurt! Having an accident myself back in September and rolling my truck, I so know what you're going through and I'm so very happy you are all alright :)

Janet ... I'm so sorry. I pray for favor with the insurance adjuster, that he will give you what the vehicle is really worth, and that God will open the door for a better vehicle.

And even in the midst of this, what a blessing you are! Praise God, you have an emergency fund! I don't ... I really should ...

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will CHOOSE to say
Blessed be your name!

Oh my goodness, God is so good!We knew my daughter's piano teacher's DH wanted to sell his '94 Suburban that is identical to what my DH drives.I had called to find out what he wanted for it and we've been waiting for him to call back. On Friday I figured out all our outstanding bills for the month, food, gas, tithing, etc., all our money coming in and all our available savings (I've had an emergency fund but have been saving every extra penny because I felt I needed to - not knowing what for). I figured out I had $1757.28 I could spend on this vehicle, so I've been praying that amount is sufficient. What I forgot in all this budgeting was title, taxes and license plates for this purchase. This guy wanted $2500 for this Suburban about 4 months ago. DH talked to him and he is bringing it to test drive tomorrow before we say yes. Everything works except A/C. It needs a front end alignment. He says he will sell it to us for $1500!!!!I just added $1500 + local taxes + title fee + estimated alignment and came up with $1746.63.I am in AWE of how good God is right now.I asked DH if I can give this guy a big hug tomorrow!!!!

Already have one, but they didn't fit on my van. Now I can put one on! We'll need something to distinguish the vehicles...two identical Suburbans...both Firefighter plates...

Luckily, Steve's does have a big black grill guard that will keep them apart!

Glad to make you smile - I know the feeling. I truly rejoice when things like this happen to others.

I was very purposeful in figuring out what I had...made sure tithing came first and there was no temptation to compromise the amount I had set forth in my heart this month.

I was determined to not incur any new debt...

I was praying about that specific number all day long.

I am SOOOO excited to see God work like this. I have to remember to write this story down with the story of our other Suburban to remember God's blessings in time of need.

glad you were all ok and the new suburban will join your family. I hope your kiddos aren't nervous about the next car ride. ours were always a little apprehensive after we were in a wreck.

I had just dropped them off! :D

(Even more protection on our family.)

oh good when you said the van ran to keep you warm I immediately thought of your kids being with you.

WOOHOO! GOD IS SO GOOD!

What an awesome testimony!

Janet, Praise the Lord! That is incredible news. Of course I'm very sad that you got into an accident and that your van was squooshed, however I'm so happy that everything worked out financially. I'm excited about your "new" Suburban, and I'm glad I still have my friend alive and well!

Good news! It is amazing how you can see God working in your life. Thank you for sharing your story to give us all insperation. Sometimes you have to go through the bad to get to the good!

Isn't it awe-inspiring to recognize God's hand in our lives? Your story is another reminder to us to "let go and let God."

Thanks so much for sharing with us.

That's great. I'll be continuing to pray for a smooth process.

Wonderful wonderful news!
