Well, today was my Holiday Mystery Host Show. It was horrible! My mom and my sister showed - no one else. I do have another order, possibly two to add to the list for Christmas presents people want to order. But, I can't believe that no one showed. Partly, my fault because I have been under the weather for the past week and didn't get as many invites out as I had wanted too. However, between my sister and I, we must have invited 30 to 40 people. On the bright side, food was good and company couldn't have been nicer. I was just hoping to have a decent turn out and maybe a booking. Oh well, time to re-group and get ready to start the new year off right - on a high note and get my business moving!

Sorry, I just felt the need to vent a little. Thanks for understanding.

Sorry to hear about your show. I have done one in the past with about the same 2 - 3 people showing up and I invited over 100...they are so hard to figure out..some people have such success.

Hi Christina!

Sorry your attendace was not what you wanted, but glad you had fun.

The one thing you did not mention was whether or not you called everyone you invited. Speaking from experience, when I did not call people to remind them of a show, attendance was very low. When I got on the phone and personally invited people, I had much better attendance. I also like to offer to dates within a day or two of each other. That way if they are not available for one, they might be available for the other.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why was my Holiday Mystery Host Show attendance low?

There could be several reasons for low attendance at your Holiday Mystery Host Show. Factors such as scheduling conflicts, holiday fatigue, or lack of awareness about the event can significantly impact turnout. It's essential to consider your audience's availability and interests during the busy holiday season.

Did I promote the event effectively?

Promotion is key to driving attendance. If your marketing efforts were limited to just a few posts on social media or a single email, it might not have reached enough potential attendees. Consider using multiple channels, such as personal invitations, social media, and reminders, to create buzz around your event.

Was the timing of the event convenient for my guests?

The timing of your show can greatly affect attendance. If the event was scheduled during a busy holiday week or at an inconvenient time, guests may have been unable to attend. It's important to choose a time that accommodates the majority of your audience, ideally avoiding major holidays or events.

Did I offer enough incentives for attending?

Incentives can motivate guests to attend your show. If the rewards for participating in the Mystery Host Show were unclear or not enticing enough, potential attendees may have chosen to skip it. Consider offering attractive prizes, exclusive discounts, or special offers to encourage participation.

How can I improve attendance for future events?

To improve attendance for future events, gather feedback from past attendees to understand their preferences and concerns. Additionally, enhance your promotional strategies, choose more convenient times, and offer compelling incentives. Engaging with your audience and building excitement around the event can also lead to higher attendance rates.
