I made heart shaped pancakes for my kids for breakfast this morning - it's kinda become a Valentine's Day tradition for us...and we are all going OUT to dinner tonight!! Woo Hoo!!

Well, I was going to make the Black Forest Trifle in the Delightful Desserts Cookbook, but my 2 1/2 yr old DS was looking thru the cookbook with me, and he is SURE that daddy would love the Chocolate Chip Sensation more - so we are going to attempt a heart-shaped one today!

I am not cooking!!!

At my networking groups Christmas meeting, we had a gift exchange. I received a gift certificate for Valentine's dinner for 2 from the caterer in the group.

Stuffed mushrooms with crab and shrimp.
Butternut squash soup
Some sort of fancy greens salad with a raspberry/cherry vinegarette

John is having some sort of pork entree. I am having chicken (surprise). I wanted fish, but that was not one of the choices.

Then a chocolate heart shaped cake with the molten center covered in chocolate ganache with raspberries.

Champagne with the appetizer/salad/soup.

Something red for the dinner, and more champagne for dessert!

I have been very good with my diet for the last month, so this is a real treat!

I have stuff to make the island breeze rum cake so I may make that for our dessert but I don't have the new torte pans! I am making steaks, garlic parsley potatoes, shrimp scampi, and crescent rolls. Not sure what my twins will have! LOL! I am sure they will eat our potatoes for sure!
