Anyone have any funny stories to share?!

Last night I called a host and asked for Lisa. Well, right before she said "There's no Lisa here" I knew I had the wrong name. Her name is Leslie! This was the first time talking to her and when I made my To Do list, I put Lisa down! Luckily I recovered by saying I was sorry that I had Lisa right above her name!

What a "doah" moment...I am horrible with names...nice recovery!

I had 2 shows the same week - one host named MaryAnne, and the other named MaryBeth. I screwed up their names every time I talked to them. It was like I had a mental block or something....even at their shows I did it!:o They both laughed about it, but I was so embarrassed. I think I tried to hard to get them right!

I had a Kendra and a Keesha! Kendra booked of Keesha's party within a week and a half. I kept catching myself wanting to call her Keesha!

I had three Kathy's in one week and one's last name was Johnson and the other Johnston with a T. I could not remember who I had talked to and kept going over in my head which hosts house I was at. It was awful...

LOL thanks for the chuckles. I'm sure I've done that too but can't remember right now.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is host coaching, and why is it important?

Host coaching is the process of guiding and supporting your hosts to ensure a successful party. It is important because effective host coaching can lead to higher sales, better attendance, and a more enjoyable experience for both the host and guests. Proper coaching helps hosts understand their role and how to engage their guests effectively.

What should I avoid when communicating with my host?

Avoid overwhelming your host with too much information at once. Instead, provide clear, concise instructions and check in regularly without being intrusive. It's also important not to assume your host knows everything; always be open to questions and provide support when needed.

Is it a mistake to set unrealistic expectations for my host?

Yes, setting unrealistic expectations can lead to disappointment and frustration for both you and your host. Instead, set achievable goals based on previous parties and the host's network. Encourage them to focus on what they can realistically accomplish, which will help maintain motivation and enthusiasm.

What should I not do when planning the party with my host?

Do not take control of the party planning process. Instead, empower your host to make decisions about the date, theme, and guest list. This will help them feel more invested in the success of the party and create a more personal experience for their guests.

How can I avoid making my host feel pressured?

To avoid pressuring your host, maintain a supportive and encouraging tone throughout your communications. Focus on celebrating their efforts rather than pushing for sales numbers. Remind them that the party is meant to be fun and that their enjoyment is the priority, which will help alleviate any pressure they may feel.
