I have to make cookies for a wedding this weekend and I want to use the cookie press. What are the best cookie press recipes you have? I tried the peanut butter presses from "All The Best" today and they didn't turn out...great. Any and all recipes would help! Thanks!:chef:

Not a press cookie, but the Raspberry & Cream Streusel Squares in the All The Best Cookbook are very pretty, easy to make, and you make them in the large bar pan, so it makes a lot. You can make more than one batch, and switch the kind of jam for different kinds of cookies.

If you want a Sprtiz Cookie, the one that was in the Holiday mini catalog was fantastic. I did the oval shaped cookie and that would be a pretty shape for a wedding. Perhaps color the dough in shades that would compliment the colors of the wedding and sprinkle with white sugar sprinkles (or they do have colored sugar...I have purchased silver and gold for our year end recognition for cupcakes or cookies in an Olympic theme).

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of cookies work best with a cookie press for a wedding?

For weddings, classic butter cookies, spritz cookies, and almond-flavored cookies are popular choices. These types of cookies hold their shape well when pressed and can be easily decorated with icing or sprinkles to match the wedding theme.

How can I ensure my cookie press cookies have the right texture?

To achieve the perfect texture, make sure your butter is softened but not melted, and use room temperature eggs. Additionally, follow the recipe closely and avoid overmixing the dough, as this can lead to tough cookies.

Can I make cookie press cookies in advance for a wedding?

Yes, you can make cookie press cookies in advance. Bake and cool the cookies completely, then store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, you can freeze them and thaw them a day before the wedding.

What are some creative ways to decorate cookie press cookies for a wedding?

Consider using royal icing, fondant, or edible glitter to decorate your cookies. You can also pipe on wedding-themed designs, such as hearts or floral patterns, and use colored sugar or sprinkles to add a festive touch.

Are there any special tips for using a cookie press for wedding cookies?

Yes! Make sure to chill your dough before using the cookie press, as this helps the cookies hold their shape. Also, practice pressing on parchment paper before baking to get a feel for the pressure needed. Lastly, clean the press between colors or flavors to avoid mixing doughs.
