You're welcome!

Kacey started a thread a bit ago about wanting to learn more about other teas. (Since she is SO addicted to sweet tea...)

Ah Ha! Thanks Janet for clearing it up -

Yea, I'm a big hair, sweet tea swillin' southern wanna be! :) LOL

I figured since I had found my newest crave (sweet tea) that I should maybe rethink hot tea- and remembered that Chef Ann and others were discussing teas one fine thread a while back, and so I wanted to learn more. I was hoping that tea had evolved into something a little less bitter and much sweeter and tastier, so they helped me find where I could get some teas, and made suggestions. :)

Speaking of, Kacey, did you get the envelope I sent you? The one I mailed on the same day was just delivered to Rae, so yours might arrive tomorrow if it didn't come today.

Girlfriend - big hair was done in the 80's!!! AS much as I loved and adored them (and still listen to the music daily! and then some!!) Big hair now??? Oh my sista 5 - please tell me you aren't still wearing your Jordache??? LOL

And - ok - is there a difference between regular ice tea and sweet tea? I don't know of any place here but McD's that is advertising tea as a new product and well - I don't go there (live up the street from it but aren't the biggest fan) - if so - enlighten me OH big hair, sweet tea swillin' southern wanna be!

Sweet tea is very sweet. Usually, sugar is added when the tea is brewed, to allow the hot water to dissolve it, before cold water is added to cool it down. My BIL (from Louisiana) recommends 1 cup sugar to 2 quarts (final volume) tea.

WOW so it is much sweeter then regular iced tea right Ann? Not a big sugar person - not sure I would like it -

Yeah- it's like tea-flavored Kool-Aid. I enjoy a glass every now and then, although I usually dilute it with some plain tea or add so much lemon that it becomes an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade, half iced tea).

An Arnold Palmer??? Damn do I live in an igloo??? Never heard of it - I must break some ice and get out more often - HEY wait - I do get out - I own a restaurant! Never heard of that drink only the golfer - have to ask the DH on that one!

Learn something new every day here - You should go on a game show ANN!

I didn't get it today, but maybe tomorrow. I promise I will let you know because I'll be gushing with thanks and gratitude and the wonderful goodies you sent to me! :) I would be more than willing to reimburse you for shipping, you just let me know! :)

Nyaa, don't worry about it. There's some loose tea in there, too. Well, not completely loose - the samples are in little baggies. But if you don't have a tea infuser, use a coffee filter.

Here are pictures of my "big" hair. Keep in mind most of these were taken on humid days or at the end of the day when the hair was flat. I have a TON of hair and it is just waiting to step out bakc into the 80's. Also my stylists will alwasy style my hair FLAT to my head. Look- I have a fat face0 very round... I don't want my hair stuck to my scalp... let's use some mouse, and gel and hair taffy and hair spray--- c'mon people...let's put some volume in my hair! :)

I didn't use Aqua Net- I used a brand my Matrix, I think it was called Vavoom I know I had to pay for half because you could only get it in salons. I was a hair nut and went to beauty school shortly after high school.

I did however use mousse and gel and hairspray in my hair, and my bangs were tall enough! :) I should try and scan my wedding picture and put it here...
For some reason my computer won't scan...DH must not have installed all the software that goes with my printer, scanner, fax, copier, dishwasher, secretary....

okay, thanks, Ann! I have some empty tea bags from Meredith so could I use those?

I'm off to bed, I'm tired! :) Have a good night everyone!

Yep- use the empties. :)

I remember Vavoom!Good night - I need to go to bed too - have to work tomorrow!

And good night from me too, although I've just been lurking around for a while peeking in as I do laundry and pack.....I'm supposed to be making Ann's Award Winning Chocolate Chip Cookies - but I think I'll do that bright and early in the morning instead. Then I can have a warm cookie with my coffee for breakfast!

I made a full batch of those a couple weeks ago, and remembered why I never make a full batch. It takes too long to bake all of them!

That's too much sugar! I use 1.5 cups to 1 gallon of tea. I boil 2.5 quarts of water with 10 tea bags (2 less than the box says) and I steep the bags for 5 minutes. Then add my sugar, let it dissolve, stir, and put in my pitcher. I then add the cold water until my pitcher is full.

DH says it is some of the best he's had and he's had a lot! :)

Ann has award winning chocolate chip cookies? I want the recipe! Heck I've already impressed my new bosses with my attitude, cuteness and skills, but bringing in a container of cookies might just seal a promotion!

Please post!!!!

Sorry you have to work. Shoot- I need to get that battery charger out to you, and the WW cookbook out to Jenn Stephens. So much to do, so little time!

Ann, do you make the cookies in the mini-muffin pan? That gives you two dozen cookies in one baking! Yes, they come out muffin shaped, but since I told them about it, and they tried it on their own, I have two customers who say they won't bake cookies any other way!:chef:

In fact, one made her usual recipe, but in the mini-muffin pan, and her husband said they were the best cookies he's ever tasted!!

Sarah

My chocolate chip cookies make regular cookies - and I get 72 from one batch when I use the medium scoop to portion the dough. I don't share the recipe anymore.

Ann, I just wanted you to know that it has not arrived. I bet it will be here on Monday. If it won't fit in the tiny mailbox they've given us (we have one of those big silver mailbox thingy's that like 8 houses share- and each have their own mail box so to speak.)

Anyway, we were gone when the mailperson came today (had to go and get groceries) so if it was here and we weren't home to open the door when they were there ringing the bell- they'll wait until tomorrow.

Just wanted to let you know. :) I'm getting all excited now!!!
