I posted a while ago (when i first joined) that I was pregnant with twins. Well, on Dec. 6th, they arrived. I was 38 weeks and 1 day. Everyone was impressed that I went that long. Alexis Jean was 6 lbs. 3 oz , 19 3/4 in long and born at 12:51. Austin James was 6 lbs. 11 oz, 20 in long and born at 12:53. I even left the hospital a day early. I am doing great, adjusting well to life with twins and a 3 year old. I am a LITTLE sleep deprived :indif: but other than that, i am doing good. Just thought I would update everyone.

Sandy

HAHAH! I tried the first day I was home and I got a 20 minute nap. My daughter woke me up by pulling my eyelid open and saying "get up mommy" there is no rest for a 3 year old. LOL

Congratulations! My nephew's name is Austin James too! I just had a baby in October with a 2 1/2 year old already at home. I agree about the no rest thing--and that was with 1 baby! Good luck!

Congratulations!

"a little sleep deprived" with a 3 yo and newborn twins???? Probably the understatement of the year! CONGRATS! and try to sleep:indif:

Congratulations and Congratulations! That is great that you could carry them that far, they were strong and healthy AND you have one of each. :)

In honor of your brother (or sister) you should have named them Denice and Denephew.(Oh, stop it. It's a good gag and worth repeating 'cause I don't get to use it very often.)

Congratulations! How exciting - enjoy your new little bundles of joy!

Congrats! I'd love to see pictures! I know they are precious.

Congratulations! :D Those weights were bigger than both my kids and they were single births! My son was 6lbs exactly! And my daughter was 5lb-15oz!
Congratulations again on a wonderful early Christmas present! Post pictures when you can!:balloon: We'd love to see them!;)

Glad to hear everyone is home safe and sound!
Rest when you can...I can only imagine what your schedule is like!

What beautiful, precious babies - and a very cute big sister!
Thanks for sharing the pictures!

How adorable congrats on having 2 healthy babies. Those are good sizes for twins as someone else said I also had 2 kids in the 6 lb range.

Oh they are so cute! Brings back fond memories, but I didn't have twins.

Sorry to say the sleep thing doesn't get any better! Now that I can get a little more, I need more!! I felt more rested when I was up half the night w/my kids then I do many days now! It's just too busy w/teens!

Best of luck to you with your new little ones and thanks for sharing the pictures!

Congrats on your new babies!!

Felicidades!... Congratulations!

I remember it well... my kids are two years apart, so that means that at one point I had a newborn, a two year old and a four year old! Yikes! How did I ever do it?! Nonetheless, children are a blessing and I encourage you to cherish every single moment. My kids are now 12, 10 and 8 and I would give anything to return time. One thing I do regret is not finding the time to write a journal. I started one when my youngest was born, but I just couldn't ever find the time to write in it. Famous motivator Jim Rohn says that we shouldn't rely on our memory and that journaling is a wonderful gift for our children. It would have been nice for my children to read and sense what it was like when they were growing up. Hopefully, now that they're older, I'll pick it up again and start writing... hopefully.

Congratulations again and God bless your little ones always!

HA! My oldest did/does the same thing! She was 17 months when my son came along...it was cute the first time, but quickly got old! She is 6 now and just hits my shoulder now so there is hope for no more eyelid pulling. ;)

Congrats and good luck on the sleep thing!

Congratulations Sandy!! What beautiful children you have!

Congrats on your twins. My twin boys are 5!! What a blessing they are to your life!! Yes you will be sleep deprived, but get a on schedule and it really helps!!

Congratulations Sandy! Sounds like you are in for lots of fun. :) :)

Those are cute pictures. My son had the same blue and white outfit and he always loved to sleep with his arms up like that. I'm glad you were able to carry them so long, and be able to go home earlier than you expected. They are ADORABLE!

CONGRATULATIONS on carrying them for so long!! They are adorable!!:D I couldn't imagine having twins but I did have 3 kids 22 months apart so I had 2 babies in diapers for a good year at the same time. I applaud you!

WOW Sandy, that is amazing that your twins were so big at birth! And the pictures are so cute!! Congrats again...

I'm 36 weeks pregnant with #3 and having contractions as I type, so we'll see if this one comes in time for the tax deduction! Haha..

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some daily challenges of having twins and a toddler?

Having twins and a toddler can be quite challenging, as it often involves juggling multiple schedules, feeding times, and nap times. Parents may find themselves outnumbered during tantrums or when trying to manage playtime. Additionally, coordinating outings can be tricky, as it requires careful planning to ensure all three children are safe and entertained.

How do you manage nap times for three kids under three?

Managing nap times can be a logistical puzzle. One effective strategy is to create a consistent daily routine that aligns the children's sleep schedules as much as possible. For instance, if the toddler has a set nap time, try to schedule the twins' naps around that time. Utilizing white noise machines and blackout curtains can also help create a conducive sleep environment for all three children.

What are some tips for keeping the kids entertained?

Keeping three young children entertained can be a challenge, but it can be done with some creativity. Consider setting up play zones with different activities, such as a sensory bin, building blocks, or art supplies. Rotating toys regularly can also keep their interest piqued. Additionally, engaging them in simple group activities like singing songs or reading books together can foster bonding and keep them occupied.

How do you handle feeding time with three little ones?

Feeding time can be hectic, but planning ahead can make it smoother. Preparing meals in bulk and using a high chair for the toddler while placing the twins in their seats can streamline the process. Finger foods are great for toddlers, while purees or mashed foods can be suitable for the twins. Having a designated feeding area and involving the toddler in helping can also make mealtime more manageable.

What are some self-care tips for parents of three kids under three?

Self-care is crucial for parents managing the demands of three young children. Carving out small moments for yourself, such as enjoying a cup of coffee while the kids are napping or engaging in a quick workout, can help recharge your energy. Additionally, seeking support from family or friends, even if it's just for a short break, can provide much-needed relief. Remember, taking care of yourself enables you to take better care of your children.
