Question-
I have used this pan before many times in my old oven, no problem.

I have gotten a new oven a really nice one w/ convection etc...

anyway I baked muffins 2 times. THe first time I christened the new oven baking in this pan. The pan was buckleing up and almost bubbbling.
Never noticed this before, I pulled out the pan in panick. Thinking I was to ruin a brand new oven. I was baking at 400

Second time I used a 6 cup muffin mix and made thin muffins, the pan buckled, like last time ...but since the muffins were on a tilt they cooked VERY crooked.

I was NOT using convection at the time.

anyone experience this?

does the pan buckle

have had no problems with mine- I have used it FREQUENTLY since winter of 06.

Is your oven working well with other dishes and recipes? It sounds to me like it might not be calibrated properly and may actually be running very hot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes the silicone floral muffin pan to buckle in a new oven?

The buckling of a silicone floral muffin pan in a new oven can be attributed to several factors, including uneven heat distribution, the oven's temperature settings, or the pan being placed on an unstable surface. Silicone pans are flexible, and if they are not supported properly, they can warp or buckle when heated.

How can I prevent my silicone muffin pan from buckling?

To prevent buckling, ensure that the silicone muffin pan is placed on a solid, flat baking sheet before putting it in the oven. This provides additional support and helps maintain its shape. Additionally, check that your oven is properly calibrated and that the temperature is set correctly.

Is it safe to use a buckled silicone muffin pan?

While a buckled silicone muffin pan may still be safe to use, it can affect the even baking of your muffins. If the pan is significantly warped, it’s best to replace it to ensure consistent results and avoid any potential safety hazards.

Can I fix a buckled silicone muffin pan?

In some cases, you can try to reshape a buckled silicone muffin pan by placing it in a preheated oven for a few minutes, then removing it and gently reshaping it while it cools. However, this may not always restore it to its original form, and if the damage is severe, replacement may be necessary.

What should I do if my new oven is causing my silicone muffin pan to buckle?

If you suspect that your new oven is the cause of the buckling, consider checking the temperature accuracy with an oven thermometer. If the oven is running too hot or too cold, adjust the temperature settings accordingly. Additionally, consult the oven's manual for tips on achieving even heat distribution.
