Can you make the taco "ring" in another shape? Like the braid? Does it still taste good? If not, what taste good as the braid?

I'm making dinner for some friends tonight and I want to make 1 ring and 1 braid. Thanks!

It's the same ingred. taste is the same

Yes...many times I will do a braid so I can show the LBP instead of the round stone (more $$ item, plus I think the LBP is a more "versitile" stone...it's my favorite!)

Ditto, any filling can go into any shape. Just a reminder that the rings tend to cook quicker than braids. Be sure to check the braid dough before taking out of the oven to make sure it isn't still a doughy mess before serving (been there, done that!).

You can make any filling into any shape.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the taco ring and taco braid?

The taco ring is a circular arrangement of dough that creates a ring shape, while the taco braid features a braided design, typically using strips of dough that are woven together. Both methods provide a unique presentation for taco fillings, but they differ in appearance and texture.

Which method is easier to prepare: the taco ring or the taco braid?

The taco ring is generally easier to prepare because it involves less intricate folding and weaving. You simply arrange the dough in a ring and fill it with your desired ingredients. The taco braid requires more attention to detail and may take a bit longer to assemble.

Do the taco ring and taco braid taste different?

While the flavor of the filling remains the same in both the taco ring and taco braid, the texture can differ. The taco braid may have more exposed dough, resulting in a crispier texture, while the taco ring may have a softer, doughier interior due to its shape. Ultimately, the taste experience can vary based on personal preference.

Can I use the same fillings for both the taco ring and taco braid?

Yes, you can use the same fillings for both the taco ring and taco braid. Popular fillings include seasoned ground beef, cheese, beans, and vegetables. The choice of fillings is versatile, allowing you to customize each dish to your liking.

Which presentation is more appealing for a party: taco ring or taco braid?

The choice between taco ring and taco braid for a party largely depends on personal preference and the theme of the event. The taco ring offers a fun, circular presentation that can be visually striking, while the taco braid provides an elegant, woven look. Both are sure to impress guests and make for a delicious centerpiece!
