I just got this e-mail from my awesome H.Director. It's kind of long but it's FULL of great tips for bookings and increasing sales. Anything to help out with our summer months since they can dry up a bit!

TIPS for SIZZLING Summer Sales: (thanks Patsy McGovern)

1. Fight the urge to take the summer off! -- Your business will repeat
itself 90 days later! You "should" OVER book your summer to compensate
for cancellations and postponements. Realistically - Cutting back in
summer means keeping your regular number of bookings on your calendar. If
you want your regular number of bookings, book 2-3 more than you would
normally! Plan wisely and reap the rewards, consistently!

2 .Change Product Focus/ Talk Summer Focus

- Knives with Sharpening Cases - Camping Boxes or Trailers, take them with
you to beach rental houses.
- Slice N Serve - Ice Cream Cakes
- Quick Stir Pitchers - Fresh Cool Drink Recipes to share
- Chillzanne Products - Preserves Time Invested Recipes like potato &
macaroni salads
- Stoneware - Freezer safe! Keeps food cold longer! Crusts in AM or bulk
bake
crusts-cool completely. Seal up with plastic and foil Freeze for cool
recipe crusts Later! Microwave safe too! Touchdown Taco Dip in
Microwave
10-14 minutes!
- BBQ Tools &Accessories - Great Father's Day Gifts
- Easy Accent Decorator - Deviled Eggs and MORE!
- Ultimate Slice N Grate - Sandwich Fixin's Fast! Onions, Tomatoes, Green
Peppers
- Food Chopper - Salad Fixin's Fast! Carrots, Green Peppers (skin side
up),olives, Mushrooms, etc.
- Twixit Clips - Clip those snack bags on the go!
- Micro-Cookers - Why heat up the kitchen with the oven when you can
MICROWAVE! Potatoes with tiny bit of water- High 4-8 minutes roughly.
Steamed veggies, try GROUND BEEF &CHICKEN!
- Batter Bowls - Cold Salads, Ice Cream Desserts, Trifles.
- Scoops - Small scoop will fill vanilla and chocolate wafers for a
mini-ice
cream Sandwich.
- Ice Cream Dipper - Always show this with an ice cube even if you're not
serving ice Cream!

3. Recipe change -- Offer Recipes that require no oven time at the hosts
house or only minimal time as soon as you get there. Maybe do only one
recipe and catch the baseball crowd- start right after the game. Cool Theme

shows- Deck shows, pool parties, Ice Cream Socials, teach quick meals for
summer or veggie &fruit trays that look professional!

4. Setup a display at your yard sale or a friend's yard sale! -- Small
Summer display with Catalogs and A Basket to enter to Win a FREE Pampered
Chef show- Free food &paper products (if you choose...everyone can win!!!)

5. Avoid weekend shows -- Many families take full advantage of weekends in
the summer and go somewhere... if you are having low attendance this could
be the reason! (Or do early Saturday morning brunches or late Sunday
afternoon)

6. After work shows-lunch hour shows-indoor afternoon shows, -- These work
great! Do one recipe and make it a fast dessert for lunch hours,
appetizers for after work &afternoon shows. Sitters are readily available
in the
summer and many Moms &teachers prefer this. Later shows - 7:30 Take
advantage of cool evening breezes!

7. Be a Speaker -- Offer yourself as a speaker for a group - not to sell
products but for possible bookings etc... Mom's playgroups = cooking
for/with kids, Sports Moms = Investment Cooking (cook once serve twice) or
Meal Planning for busy families, Office Personal = bag lunch
alternatives, Work out Clubs or Fitness Centers = Cooking Light etc. Short
presentation, catalogs, business cards, booking specials.

8. Catalog shows, -- Advertise and be ready for these bookings at your
shows! Summer is Great to pass catalogs at the playgrounds, pools, and
sports
events!

9. Unvacation Shows -- All those who aren't going on vacation, make it
festive-Hawaiian or Tropical, or Mexican! Pretend they are coming to their

Vacation Destination!

10. Block Parties -- Have a Mystery Host Neighborhood Block Party! Covered

Dish- maybe you provide recipes. 1 or 2 neighbors share the benefits!

11. Adjust schedule for holidays, -- Plan to do more shows the weeks before

and after a holiday week to compensate for the week you and potential hosts

take off!

12. Air Conditioned Show, -- Encourage Hosts to advertise AC when inviting
her guests! Many people will make an effort to attend an event in a cool
haven!

13. Plan to Take your Vitamin! -- National Conference is like a business
vitamin that will not only MORE than carry your attitude and business
through the summer but well into next year!!

14. Utilize Power Hour Pockets -- Find your hour in pockets of time- 15
minutes to call hosts. Take your phone outside with you, let your kids blow

bubbles, paint with water on the sidewalk or steps, etc. for 15 minutes.

15. Delegate-Get Family Help -- Stamping and Stuffing is FUN for kids! Who

cares if it's upside down - As long as its legible! Pay them with a sundae

buffet or ice cream cone out! Or Pizza Party, marshmallow toast treats,
etc. Make a deal with hubby- he loads/unloads your car and/orders dishes
or whatever you need for every $600, $700 or whatever amount show! Last
summer I did this - It worked for us!

16. Use an office on the go bag! -- Keep a bag ready to throw work into
that you can take with you and do in small bits of time- like when you're
waiting to pick up your kids from a practice, riding (not driving) in the
car, at the pool or play ground, etc...

17. Wear Pampered Chef clothing Out and About! -- Be prepared with
catalogs, show packets, replacement order forms, and a gift certificate
form in that office bag to go!

18. Try New and Renew Old Recipes -- Take Pampered Chef recipes to all
summer covered dish events &events where snacks are appreciated! Save
receipts for 2006 tax deductions!

19. Going on Vacation Show -- Take products and hold a show and a portion
of your trip can be tax deductible!

20. Utilize Home Office Help! -- The Home Office Team has set us up for a
VERY Successful Summer Selling Season if we want it!
