Okay, so, I have decided to end my PC career as soon as I run out of bookings. I had a show booked for last night and one for October and I had decided to refer the October one to a different consultant and if I got any bookings last night I would refer them to a different consultant. At my last few shows I haven't mentioned booking or recruiting at all. I have basically just done the basic show stuff keeping it really simple and again, no mention whatsoever of bookings. The one that I did in May is when I got the October booking, they walked in talking about it, they had been to another one of my shows and decided that they were going to book. Then last night, things are moving along, and all of a sudden one of my past hosts that was a guest starts saying she has to have that DCB and needs to book another show at her cottage at the lake! And asked if I'd come to the lake to do a show  (she also happens to be a lady that my mom has worked with for years and that I know and like a lot) so I couldn't say no! And I couldn't refer her to someone else. Then another lady walks up and asks to see my calendar, she wants to book too! :grumpy: I couldn't tell her no if I agreed to do the other one. So, now I have 2 more bookings, one in July and one in August, so I might as well do the October one too... I didn't even have my calendar or any host packets or anything, because I wasn't going to book anymore shows! My DD is going to be very upset with me, she was very happy that I was going to my last PC show. So, the moral of the story, if you want bookings, go unprepared and don't talk about them and pretend you don't want them, they will come to you! ;)
So, I guess I'm sticking with it through October!

I'm sorry I can't feel your pain! ;)

I didn't really expect anyone to feel my pain... but I think it's kind of amusing that when I don't want bookings, I can't seem to stay away from them! My husband cracked up when I told him that I got 2 more bookings!

I'll take them for you Paula! My family is from up that way anyways!:p

Hmmm, nope, doesn't sound familiar, but I'm not good with names. Hey, any chance that any of them would like to buy a purebred Golden Retriever puppy? $200! No papers but both parents are purebred... they are 6 1/2 weeks old and ready to go to their new homes... 3 boys and 1 girl! Let me know if you want to see pictures!

Not that I know of but I"ll bet they are super cute! I wish I would have had this opportunity a few years back. I would love to see pictures but then I know I would have a hard time turnign one down. :) I will ask around and see if anyone is interested though!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main strategy behind booking more shows in direct sales?

The key strategy is to leverage existing relationships and create a sense of urgency. By engaging with your current customers and encouraging them to host shows, you can tap into their networks and increase your bookings. Additionally, offering incentives or special promotions can motivate potential hosts to schedule their shows sooner rather than later.

How did you accidentally book three more shows?

I shared my excitement about an upcoming show with friends and family, which led to spontaneous interest. During casual conversations, I mentioned the benefits of hosting a show, such as exclusive discounts and free products. This sparked interest, and before I knew it, three people had expressed their desire to host their own shows.

What are some effective ways to ask for bookings?

One effective way is to ask during or after a party when guests are already engaged and excited about the products. You can also personalize your approach by highlighting how hosting a show can benefit them, such as earning free products or spending time with friends. Always be genuine and enthusiastic about the opportunity.

How can I create urgency for potential hosts?

Creating urgency can be achieved by offering limited-time promotions or exclusive products for hosts. Additionally, you can emphasize the benefits of booking a show sooner, such as securing a date that works for them or taking advantage of seasonal themes. Sharing success stories from past hosts can also inspire potential hosts to act quickly.

What should I do if someone declines to host a show?

If someone declines, it's important to remain positive and respectful. Ask if they would be interested in attending a future show or if they know someone who might want to host. You can also offer to follow up with them later, as their circumstances may change. Building a relationship and staying connected can lead to future opportunities.
