I have a show on Saturday and have still not been able to reach the host - She is probably about 45 mnutes away from me. I have called and e-mailed. but no response. I got a note from a friend of hers (this was booked out of a friends show) I will see you at Ashley's show. Well I can't reach Ashley. I don't like running around to people's houses if they don't have the courtesy to pick up their phone or answer their e-mails when they are having a show.

What do you do ? Show up anyway at the appointed time?? I am not sure a card in the mail is much good at this late date. Leave one last message that Iif I do not hear from you by XX time that I will assume you have cancelled your show and contacted all your guest that it has been cancelled???

Kathy - I do the opposite - I tell them that since I haven't heard from them, I assume the show is still on and I'll be there at XX time with XX amount of catalogs and the products for XX recipe. If the show is canceled, I usually get a call immediately after that!! Good luck!

I also do as Cathy describes. I would also call the host from the show she/he booked from and say I am having a lot of trouble reaching the new host. I ask for advice on when the best time to call her is and double check the contact info (and try to get another number for her).

I have done what Beth suggested, too - definitely a good idea to make sure you have the right phone numbers!! :)

Well the phone message if I recall says it is Ashley

Even if you know it's the right number, calling the past host can get you information that you don't have. I had a situation like this once, and when I called the past host, she told me that the new host's mom was in the hospital and she had been there pretty much 24/7. I know if I were in that situation, calling my PC rep back wouldn't necessarily be on the top of my priority list. :) But because I spoke to the past host, I assumed that it was cancelled (and I left a caring message for the new host to call me when things calmed down and that I hoped her mom was OK).

This will be the second of 3 shows booked from one person that I have had problems with. I hate contacting the host again especially since she is a recruit potential but I guess I will if I don't here from her soon

Kathy, I just had this exact situation from a show that was supposed to be this Sat. the 18th. After contacting her in every way possible and talking to the host friend she booked off of. She finally e-mailed me Tues. afternoon to cancel her Saturday show. I only had 2 parties for Aug. and now I can't rebook it. She said all her friends were either out of town or were wanting to shop because it was the tax free weekend. I sent an e-mail and strongly encouraged a catalog show. She wanted to reschedule for Oct. so I told her that small catalog show would let her have 2 hostess specials in Oct. I am so hoping she will try the catalog show--the forged cutlery specials are so great. However, I know how you feel and I don't feel so bad that it is just me and something I am doing wrong. Hang in there Kathy.

I guess I get frustrated but I try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. I will take 4 days notice over 3 hours notice like my last cancallation

I really don't think tax free weekend is that big a saving myself but I am not a big shopper either. Perhaps it is helpful for school or something but a really good sale on a regular day is usually better than 7.25-8.75% free on one day. Besides I don't like craziness

I work at Sprouts and you should see what it looks like on Double ad Wednesday AHHHHH

Must be a bad weekend for shows. Mine for this Saturday cancelled too. I just found out yesterday.

You might want to HO to find out if PC is doing the tax free weekend and if so encourage her to let her friends know that if they order with her catalog show by that date that their purchases will be tax free.

I think tax free only applies to school supplies, shoes and clothes. Although, I like the sound of it and wish it were true. I found out today that I am one of 3 left in the running for a drawing in my cluster for a Exec. Grill pan. I needed the party that cancelled to stay in the running. I have to have 2 parties of at least $250 during each of the months of June, July, and Aug.. I have one in Aug. on the 23rd. and have now lost the one that would have been my second. No one wants Aug. because school starts the 27th and everyone is busy and finishing trips and getting school stuff together. I need a BIG wonderful idea that doesn't cost me too much to get a catalog show to happen.

Wohoo she called - We have been having trouble that the power grid has had a little trouble in our area and Denton and Sanger (where she lives) have lost power in the last few days. Got to talk to her and work on menu, directions attendance etc.

I'd check and confirm on the tax free stuff to make sure it does not apply 'cause it would be cool for you if it is true - then you could even hold your own "phone sale" show.

Have you sent out a "going, going, gone" flyer/email? Maybe contact your top 10 hosts to see about doing a mystery host show where each person collects $100+ in orders and you select 1 or 2 of them to get the benefits.
